AV clearly had favoritism for the players he had on his Moose roster early on. I remember an interview with Hank where he said that they had discussions a number of times with AV saying they could contribute more if given a chance. They sat on the bench too much when AV had his Moose faves out on the ice and we were starved for offense. Over the years, AV shielded all his buddies from the Moose at all costs. Raymonds cowardly play, Kesler's many attitude problems, Bieksa's poor play and selfishness... it seemed that AV's frustration would be deflected to the young players or new players in the case of Ballard and any vet at camp on a try out who played better than his plugs and were sent packing.
