I am looking forward to a 4th line featuring:
scraps - scraps - scraps (St Louis) - CanuckDon
So how would you suggest we fix this? |

That's just it...the market is fluid. 2 seasons ago Hansen was probably worth a first. Not anymore. - CanuckDon
Its very fluid, in the past couple seasons we have seen Vermette, Ladd, Yandle, Kessel (conditional), Sekera, and Martin Jones. Depending on how desperate a team is, Hansen could fetch it, but IMO he doesnt really fit what teams would find a desperate need for based on his position. Centres, D and goalies all have more value than versatile winger |

I might be the minority here, but I think the Canucks should pickup Pulkinnen. He has only seen limited ice time in Detroit but his numbers are incredible. His canon of a shot would be an immediate help on the PP (where he was used on the point). He is also very cheap. I would sooner see Skille/Burrows in the press box and see a 4th line of Pulkinnen - Gaunce - Dorsett. - Codes1087
I agree, I like Pulkinnen over any of the other guys we have seen so far on waivers. |

Exactly...I like Hansen but he is 2nd/3rd line tweener on one of the worst teams in the league. He isn't a top 6 player on a good team.
Edit...also, folks were talking about putting Hamhuis on the waiver wire he was so bad for 2/3rds of the season. and all of a sudden we expect a kings ransom? - CanuckDon
Those folks would of been idiots.

They would instantly provide a plethora of depth and solve all of the other woes that ail the Canucks. Championship teams are built on other teams castaways and fringe players. |

We (not just you and me but in general) debate players value every year and every year there is one player who goes for a 1st vs a similar player who goes for a 4th.
It's not the players that set the market value, it is the GM's and their desperation and or ability to negotiate. |

This weekend will have lots of shifting in the standings. We have to at least split the EDM & WA games. - VanHockeyGuy

Correct. I like Hansen as well but he is the type of player you move for value after a few good seasons. I know it's not a popular option just the way it is.
Tanev as well. After the WHC we should have seen or shopped for value. If we don't pull the trigger on Hansen in the next few seasons we run the risk of it being another Burrows situation. |

Our GM doesn't understand the trade deadline so don't get your hopes up. |

McIlrath would be a great pickup for team toughness!.....
Aside from the fact that he can't skate, consistently is beat to pucks, and burned when players drive wide on him.
Other than that, what a great fit! - nucks_94
can't hit what you can't catch.... Canucks are about getting faster .... Sbisa who is not as tough but big enough to clear the net or make a hit is more mouse or faster but he is a LD and this kid is a RD so who do you take out or is he insurance ...? |

Him and Komarov I think are very similar.
Can Play up and down your lineup, they both are great on the forecheck, and they are CHEAP in terms of cap hit. |

I agree. Plays a 200ft game, can slide up and down the lineup. Can chip in offensively and play the PK. |

That contract as well is pretty damn impressive.
So a 4th for Hansen with salary retained |

Oh yeah and contending teams usually have the top guys already and if you want a guy that can go up and down the line up or give you solid minutes on the 3rd line a guy like Hansen would be good and probably would command a good return. |
