I think this is a big weekend for Canucks. It will bring us to the first 9-10 games. Usually teams wait to 20-25 before deciding but come on we seen this before.
Winning and playing boring hockey is acceptable.
Losing and playing boring hockey is a buzz kill.
In the losses you can see the lack of everything from skill, desire , drive and everything else.
If you have a losing team you need to be working hard , fighting , banging , driving the net.
Do you really want to wait 3 years to start making big moves when you need them now? - VANTEL
I don't know about you but I'm looking for a cliff. |

Especially on a Friday and Saturday night, there are lots of ways to calm down if things go sideways. Ask Marwood

Man those standings change fast! My expectations are still the same, work hard and battle every game. Then I can except wherever we finish. |

Sometimes it's worth rolling the dice on waiver pickups, especially when you pick third. It sends a message to the bubble players that things have to improve. Not that i'm advocating for JB to pick up McIlrath or Paajarvi, but i'm all for that "always compete" mindset. - VanHockeyGuy
I would pick up McIlrath. How could it hurt? You have Biega and Tryamkin sitting on the bench . Send Biega on waivers or Tryamkin to the Comets / KHL.
Our D is still soft and DM is a big young kid. |

He would be really nice to have, it really pissed me off that game were Markstrom got ran hard, and sbisa and larsen just stood there. Plus rather have this kid and stecher then Biega/Larsen |

Why not JB?
Talent Analysis
McIlrath is a nasty, in-your-face defenseman who won’t back down and can clear the crease for his netminder. He is not afraid to fight or just intimidate, McIlrath has a good shot and his puck distribution has been improving but he needs to improve his skating and defensive positioning.

I really like Stecher, but would rather see him get more time and dominate in the AHL. We all know there will more injuries coming. |

Wouldn't want to be hanging around that crease too much. |

Not at all, then Gudbranson on the line ahead, as you said there will be more injuries, why not take a shot on the guy, plus the west would be a better fit for him to play in |

More time ? He had second highest time on the team last game . One second less than Edler. |

I hoping he doesn't get crushed, it's a fast game and he's not the biggest guy. |

It makes you wonder.
Tanev Edler seem to play save the Day Defence. Steady reliable defend well. Edler Stecher seems to be an attack type D. Much more scoring chances and an occasional gaffe
I thought we got pushed around in California . Sbisa may have good intentions but he is not a net clearer and his mistakes you can see from outer space.
I would consider looking at changing the image of the Canucks |

Let's see what TO & EDM do. If he's there, go for it. |

I'm honestly really surprised to see them waiving McIlrath, and normally I'd be advocating for taking him if we weren't so clogged with 5/6/7/8 Dmen. |

We need scoring not defense.
We don't need other teams scraps. |

He would have been worth a try. AV actually had pretty big praise for him but he can't be buried as the Rangers 8th dman...they said he needs to play. |
