Kinkaid is a thow-in on a jvr deal

I prefer proven nhl talent over picks/prospects for jvr. Preferably a dman.

I would prefer moving Lupul+ or anther big salary for one of the Dallas big money goalies.

Can he still play though? He spent his time last year on a shortened AHL contract with the Marlies. I'd still prefer trade over free agency. Our number of one-way contracts used on players who won't be part of the future is what should be keeping management up at night.

I actually said it initially as a joke. Yeah, I think he is done.

But I looked him up on hockeydb - he's only 33 years old!

I had assumed he was at least 5 years older than that.

A few options and thoughts

Goaltending coach Briere has had some history from working with Mitch Korn and goalies Ellis and Lindback were goalies under Korn's tutelage . Of the two I would go with Ellis.

If it could be any more limp it would be an innie How a 24 year old that's never played a pro game came to become one of the biggest stories of the summer is still beyond me.

Sean Monahan extended in CAL. Seven years, it's around Nathan MacKinnon's AAV ($6.3M).

Vesey will read Garth's blogs and then sign in the Leafs in order to complete the trollest signing in the NHL this season.

The thing with Ramo, Berra, and Enroth is not any of them are what I would considered a grizzled veteran goalie. More like a collection of never-was'ers. I'm still thinking swapping a low value 1-way contract for a goalie would be the best way to go. Keeps our contract number the same, and helps alleviate the logjam on the wings that will hold the kids back.

The New Jersey forums keep kicking up JVR for Kinkaid + picks/prospects. What does everyone think of that? If the package included their first, I could swallow that pill.

Yea, he peaked pretty early in his career with Ottawa and completely fell off the rails from there. Just say no to drugs, kids

I figured it would be in that neighborhood. Flames have a pretty good team coming. Good dmen and some very talented young forwards.

Lupul for niemi

Saves $700k in cap space. opens up a forward roster spot.

Do we really need more than that in a lupul trade?

It's logical, but I don't think Dallas goes for it. They have a mess in net, but Lupul would probably be lucky to play 82 games in the next two seasons. It's really a shame, because he's a very good forward when healthy.
