Plus Detroit was too far away, but Chicago is fine...? - lumlums
I want him to sign with the Leafs obviously, it's a free kick at the can. That said I don't think he will have a successful career and I want him to just not sign with Buffalo or the Bruins then for him to sign with the Leafs at this point also anyone see Burke saying college free agents rarely make contributions? How many did he sign in his time with the Leafs?

Agreed. I mean, I think that someone like Leivo is a fair comparison based on age, position and stats (with the edge going to Leivo based on pro experience)... if Vesey can turn into a 40 point a season guy for a few years then great, if not then no big deal... the assertion that he's going to slot in on a top line and start netting 70 though is (frank)ing laughable
At $3.9Million, this is a guy that could probably land you a prospect or a draft pick in this trade with the Jets.
From a cap-hit perspective, it is only 1 year, and not for anything, this is the time when the Leafs can still take on a bad contract or two, in order to obtain a young player or pick.
Pavelec has somewhat of a solid track record....so, if the Leafs were to look at trading him come the deadline, you could again, get in return, a prospect, or a draft pick.
