They are rebuilding, but they just started for cryin out loud! Benning's been on the job TWO years. Let him build. Just try and be more competitive is all the fans should be asking.

The Sutter's, Hansens and such are the players Chicago keeps getting rid of so they can keep their core together.

People need to stop trying to squeeze every ounce out of this older tired group, which you've said yourself. Establishing the next group of core players involves drafting and developing, not trading away your youth to compete now with a team that has no chance of winning a Cup.

No he doesn't, he's said publicly he's not trading the core he's building. Unlike you and some others. He may trade for a winger, but I'd bet my hard earned dollars he won't trade any of the main kids.

I don't think the new core is far off from what we have now. I don't want anymore trades if it involves what we have as a core so far. We are a true 1C and 1LW away from a decent group that will mature over 3 to 4 years. Right around the time the Sedins retire I bet. We could draft them sure and I hope we do but if we found a way to get a prospect that fits the bill without giving up too much I don't think it's a bad thing. The problem is, what will it cost? I cannot imagine Benning being dumb enough to make a mistake like that.

I think Juolevi will be a #1D one day but it may take 5 years or so. Right around the time Edler's contract ends too.... weird.

Larsen is my dark horse to make a big impression. I like what I've seen so far and even Rodin looks ready to prove he has what it takes to score in the NHL. I don't know for sure what happens but I'll bet they have roster spots after TC and we see them make big strides even if they get 40 games in. I predict Larsen to have a Hutton type year and help the PP and Rodin to pot 20 goals alongside Horvat and JV.

My biggest turning point for the Canucks will be JV. Can he become a more offensive player? Can he elevate his game and get stronger, more physical while staying responsible defensively? I hope so because I think he's the only one I'm unsure about for now. He has all the tools and I'm excited to see what he brings.

I could see Subban, Pedan, Sbisa, Granlund, Burrows, and maybe Gaunce our tradeable assets and I don't see us getting much. It would be dependent on the teams need for a defenseman like Sbisa.

Happy Tuesday but I'm pretty happy where we are and hope we only trade less impact full pieces if any at all.

That's the thing, when we started off poorly and people clamoured for a tank I said most wouldn't have the stomach for it. Here we are just a few months later and people are aching to be competitive again. Sometimes you have to take some lumps along the way.
