We were mad at paying Adams ~1 mil being on the 4th line... you want 3.85 mil for a 4 liner?
He could be... but hes looking like a 5mil+ contract demander. - Guile
Whats your point? Its a 1 year contract. We need cap room the following year. How the f are we going to lure a UFA guy here on a 1 year contract? |

Anyone else wondering if the Fertitta's are going to be involved in the Vegas team? Suddenly they're marketing the UFC for a full sell off... |

Please direct me to anywhere that I said to bring in a player on a 1 year ufa deal. Then just stop posting stupidity |

The Pens cant trade Kunitz unless it is part of a package for a legit first line LW. Who is going to play LW with Sid and Malkin? I dont want to roll with Sheary and ??? for a full year.
I see people mentioning Boedker but he is not as good as Kunitz and will demand a bigger contract. Doesnt make much sense. |

Its gonna have to be a big, big package to send Kunitz in exchange for a first line LW |

You're probably right haven't spent much time thinking about it (researching it) but the timing just seemed odd. |

Yeah I just saw that... 7 to 9 months. Well at least we have a firm decision on whether or not he's on opening night roster... |

Obviously it's a hockey God sign that he should switch to LW. |

At least it ain't the NFL where dudes are retiring at 20/21 (or in football, 23-24) because of future head injury concerns |

Damn, I was looking forward to seeing him possibly start the year with the Pens. Hopefully everything will go okay and there will be no setbacks. |

The why is extremely easy... aside from a handful of games in this postseason, hes looked done for the bulk of the season, and most of last season. Hes not worth even half the cap hit now. 3.85 million is not worth 4 games in the playoffs.
I'd take a mid round pick, or a B prospect. - Guile
I'm not opposed to trading Kunitz if a hockey trade came about. I don't wanna just dump his salary especially since Pens should have the cap space to make whatever moves they need to make and he is still serviceable at his cap hit. He had 40 points in 80 regular season games and 12 points in 24 playoff games. He's easily worth his contract IMO. |

Different scenarios. Adams was useless when he gave out that contract. Kunitz, on the other hand, was a really good player when we gave him his and is still useful, we just have to deal with the tale end of the contract when he's not as useful anymore and being overpaid. Its the last year of his contract, and if the pieces fall that way, I don't mind paying Kunitz 4 mil to play fourth line minutes because our cap situation affords that luxury. We don't really have a replacement for him anyways at this time.
And no, Boedker can't fit under the cap. He's a great fit, but he's done nothing to merit a 5 mil contract anyways. Not the kind of player I'd do backflips over to try and fit under the cap. |

Drug test day... Anyone suggesting trading Murray yesterday will be asked to piss in a cup. This is how the cap should work. You replace guys who are older and cost more with guys who are younger and have high ceilings!!! You don't trade a guy that's learning while winning a Stanley Cup as a rookie... |

I'm pro-hockey trade for Kunitz. Not sure if one exists but if you find a scuderi-daley deal then do it. I'm very scared of giving term this year. Following year we have a ton of UFA/RFA guys and I'm not sure who we will want to resign and at what costs. Since we don't need cap room this year I wouldn't dump Kunitz for a pick in order to sign a UFA |
