TJS for Malkin? I didn't realize it was that bad. I hope his fastball returns. - acdc1206
Good thing he's not a pitcher....10 month recovery! Should be about 6 for him. What kind of surgery did Fehr have? I know it was elbow something. |

Cannot find anything specific besides "elbow surgery". But since his timetable to recover was ~3-4 months, would assume it wasn't TJ. |

Could be a tendon issue. My brother had that surgery from tendonitis. Kinda sucks at first you have no forearm strength for a while. |

That would explain his lack of that heavy power shot for the bulk of the season. |

Surgery might make some believe he is more tradable... to a team that is not yet ready to push for a Cup, but in a year or two would...
basically either outcome can be spun both ways. |

Both are good. Fleury's better, but is older and more expensive while Murray can still grow and get better. Don't know why that's so hard to understand. Can't keep trying to keep the band together from 09. Look where that got us these past few years.
FYI, if Fleury had been as leaky as Murray this post season he would have had his best post season since 08. - Victoro311
Solid point there. I still think Fleury is the better goalie on this day. Having said that, Murray was good enough to win the cup with and is only 22. Good chance he could get better...there's also the chance he may never get better. |

There is just no point in trying to argue against EK's silly anti Penguin bias |

I think by the end of the playoffs we all have a good idea of what Murr's floor is. And his floor is something that we can win with. This is an issue of cap management and people need to stop making it out to be more than it is (aka a debate about who's the better goalie right here right now). |

Theres a chance Malkin could get a staph infection from surgery and need his arm amputated. |

Interesting article on Fleury from Puck Daddy:

I have been saying exactly this for the past 72 hours. Keep repeating it. It is JRs thinking as well, from what I can infer based on his comments yesterday.
The big thing is getting MAF to waive his no movement clause prior to any expansion draft.
Unless they get a great offer now for MAF, this is what will likely happen on 16-17. |

I think that's a Beau Bennett possibility. Did he survive the phone call yesterday telling him the made him a qualifying offer? Or did someone hit him in the shoulder when he was answering his cell phone? |

It has happened before, a very young goalie winning the cup or performing very well one year, then not very good the next year or future years. It happens with skaters sometimes too. |

If I'm GMJR my chat with Fleury would include "listen, you can waive your NTC and go here or there, or you can probably end up in Vegas, choice is yours" |

So lets go back to getting rid of Kunitz... instead of Flower. People making poop here almost personal, some getting belligerently stupid with trade ideas...
So, Kunitz... make him retire, or where to trade him off to. That will solve our cap issues, I don't believe we are gonna miss him on LW hardly at all with Wilson returning. |

So much will become clearer on the 22nd when they solidify the expansion draft rules.
Good thing we can bask in the Pens win while we wait! |

Kunitz isnt retiring and I highly doubt he'll be anywhere but Pittsburgh next year. |

His being dealt solves all our problems with cap stuff, and lets us wait and see on Flower Murray. |

What would you honestly give up for Kunitz and why? |

The why is extremely easy... aside from a handful of games in this postseason, hes looked done for the bulk of the season, and most of last season. Hes not worth even half the cap hit now. 3.85 million is not worth 4 games in the playoffs.
I'd take a mid round pick, or a B prospect. |
