I agree with you 100% Bill on Couturier
I'd also like to see them leave Schenn and Simmonds with Giroux and put Jake on Couturier's line. I think playing with an offensive winger with speed like Jake, will only continue to help bring out his offensive game.

Hey Bill I agree with you 100% as well. I said to some friends that Coots can be a point per game player in the right situation, but at the very least a 30-30 guy with a tremendous 200 foot game. he has excellent puck possession skills in my opinion, an underrated shot and a good passer. there was a dangle he had from i think 2 or 3 years ago, cant remember who it was we were playing, but he was in a scrum in the right corner behind the net with two defenders, came out with it while holding off one of them on his forehand, quickly switched gears, turned around and went behind the net and came out the other side on his backhand, all while shielding 3 total players and sending a backhanded cross ice pass back to the right point. i can see it in my head and he reminded me of a Jagr-lite.
id love to see him get more PP time and of course more o-zone draws, and possibly to be given a linemate to stick with. i think the days of him playing with read are over, but i would really love to see Hak stick with ? - Coots - Schenn. Dont know if you remember but the last 10 games of the 14-15 season when Berube put Schenn with Coots, they both performed extremely well |

I want Konecny on this team next season.
Love Couturier, but damn if he was a little faster. Watching the teams in the playoffs, sigh. |

Not gonna disagree, but if you only remember one instance from 2-3 years ago, maybe he just got lucky. Kind of like Carcillo's toe drag, backhand deke around 3 TML players for a goal from 6 years ago. |

I think his positional awareness and hockey sense more than makes up for his perceived lack of speed. |

We shall see. It's an area of concern for me.
He will be playing 20+ minutes a night. Curious to see how he does in an extended playoff run. Guys that play that many minutes cannot simply just defend. The points will have to come.

He had a hat trick in the playoffs a few years back, and I'm pretty sure he led the Flyers in 5v5 scoring/60. |

In my opinion we have seen....for the entire length of his career. Speed has never been a concern for me. For one thing, I don't think he is slow. I have never seen him be a step behind on any play where speed would be the factor which caused it to happen, and for another, I think his long stride makes him look slower than he actually is. |

that was a sequence that sticks out to me, not the only one i remember by any stretch. he has very underrated stick handling skills, it seems pretty effortless. definitely not a one off |
