Got a bad feeling about today. But like I've said before , they are further then I ever thought they would be this year. So either way it's a win win . |

Need to take advantage of the home crowd and the fact that the Caps have to be in 'WTF mode' after game 5.
If things go wrong today, the irony of any of the "Stay classy, Philly" shirts hitting the ice will not be lost on anybody. |

Well IF our top players decide to show up they may have a chance. Like Bill said the PP couldn't even set up last game. Giroux has looked bad in every facet of his game, winning that draw on the PP seems like a very rare occurrence .
This is the weakest offensive performance I have seen.

Exactly.....puck possession on the PP has been abysmal....when you lose the draw every time and have trouble entering the zone the PP doesn't stand a chance....puck support for Washington on the PK is great....they attack the Flyers. Much like the Flyers PK....the caps seem to out work the Flyers. |

If they get out shot 44-11 today ....it's probably a 7-0 game this time around. |

The boys are playing with house money. Every period they are ahead or tied with the Caps puts just a little more pressure on them. If they can keep the PPs against to 3 and under, the Flyers have a real shot to win. |

I think if they are going to get any scoring today it's going to have to come from guys like Ghost and Simmonds. Maybe that second line with Raffl and Gagne as well.
G must be hurt and I don't expect much at this point. He's even been losing key faceoffs which was one of his strengths all year. It would be nice for Jake to get going but I am expecting more of the same frustration from him today. Schenn has been a real power forward force and maybe he gets one today. |

I can't stand watching Ovechkin run over one Flyer after another. Please do something about it. |

No player is 100% after 80+ games. No injury excuses. Giroux has to step up and start contributing. |

ha
Don't think we will see that yet but last game I was thinking Gagner might be better on the left boards in the #1 PP then G right now.
Not sure who can play the right board right point spot in place of Jake but those two have not been themselves and it's killing what used to be a strong spot for this team.
Maybe Hext can find a right shooting D man this summer to play right point on the PP for next year. |

Morin will take care of him in the future |

I can't imagine this nonsensical "King" nickname sticking with Lundqvist after that debacle. 11 goals allowed in 4 periods, pulled in back to back games. Pathetic. He should be called the court jester now. |

It would be nice but I have not seen anything from G in this series that makes me think it will happen.
I'm not sure physically he is capable from whatever he is trying to play through.
Everything from his skating, passing, shooting, face offs just seems really weak.
Voracek I don't feel the same way. He has shown some (although very few) moments of snapping out of his funk and while I think he is not quite 100% either, much of his struggles seem mental. One goal or a great set up might snap him out of it.
With G i don't see it happening. |

He is still an elite goalie. That PENS team is going to make a lot of goalies look 'bad.' They have a lot of offensive weapons. It's the D and goalie that could fall apart at any point. |

You should read Brook's article in the NY post today. Writing about the end of an era and big changes coming and stuff. On my phone so I can't link it but worth checking out for all the doom and gloom. |

I think game 5 was Washington's all or nothing game. They seemed like they held nothing back. I think they will be more emotionally drained than the Flyers and if the Flyers can avoid falling behind early, they have a decent chance of breaking the Caps will.
The Caps have to be wondering right now just what the heck else they have to do to close out the Flyers. Hell, if you look at a stat sheet there's not a single thing you can say the Caps need to improve on. |

In regards to the Rangers, I did enjoy looking up their big deals at the past 3 deadlines:
2016 - Aleksi Saarela, 2016 2nd, 2017 2nd for Eric Staal (rental)
2015 - Anthony Duclair, John Moore, 2015 2nd, 2016 1st for Keith Yandle (1.5 years), Chris Summers, 2016 4th
2014 - Ryan Callahan, 2014 1st, 2015 1st, 2015 7th for Martin St. Louis (1.5 years), 2015 2nd |

And does anyone know if this is a true noon start that will start by 12:10 or a standard NBC game that doesn't actually see the puck dropped til 12:30? |
