In future playoffs, it's my hope that Ghost is not reined in. Not to say he didn't have his own poor performances, but he just lacked that balls to the wall play that got him a probable Calder nomination. I'm sure that was instilled into him. He didn't jump into plays as much, stayed back passively instead of making aggressive reads.
Makes me think of something someone said about Karlsson: you can't make him play like a normal d man. He has to play like Karlsson. Ghost has to play like Ghost at all times. - Mononoke
but karlsson is a god damn liability on the back end because of that |

That's the trade off with those players. In time pairing him with Morin will help |

I am rooting for the Penguins and the Phillies.
I am you.
You are me.
But (frank) the Penguins come the Stanley Cup Final if they make it. - Mononoke
i think the pens will have a very hard go of it against the caps. they can do it, but it'll be a war for either side. if they can get through that though, i think they could hang with whatever team out west should they make the cup.
oh and how about Nola. another good one. |

karlsson is a negative player and gets a chunk of his points from the PP if the game tightens up in the playoffs he might be cannon fodder |

I think a Sharks/Ducks - Pens final would be a ton of fun. |

NHL Network has U.S.-Canada game on now. I'm going to tape it, but it just started in case anyone is interested. Lots of good players Flyers could target. |

For me, why the Hexy regime is different is because the organization has prospects that guys who are know the game a lot better then me say they are legitimate impact NHL players. Gone are the days of Mike Testuide and Kevin Marshall as top prospects in the organization. They have a ton of picks over the next two drafts to supplement the pool.
I don't buy the argument that G will be too old to make a difference until Provorov, Morin, Konency and others gain experience at the NHL. Ovie is 30 and captain of the best team in hockey. It doesn't guarantee the Caps will go and win the Cup. However, the Caps got really good by the growth of Carlson and Alzner on the backend. The development of home grown forwards Kuznetsov, Johannsson, and Burakovsky.
Now there are no guarantee any of the Flyers prospects will pan out. However, to have such a deep pool is encouraging. Why can't Konency or Lindblom have the same impact of Kuznetsov over the next two seasons? Finally, there is no way I would trade Neuvy in the offseason. I would like to see Lyons and Stollie start in the AHL. Hopefully one plays well enough for Hexy to trade one of his upcoming UFA goalies before the deadline. |

If Caps D hold up against the pens V and G could be healthy |

Gagner? The entire 4th line?
Our bottom 6 has carried us.
Our captain is supposed to lead. He has done nothing. Its a fact, nothing more and nothing less. - MikesPillBottle

If that's the case doesn't it make sense to move him while he commands a serious return? - JoeRussomanno
No because that doesn't mean they have no chance of winning until he's 30. That's just not the main core that's being drafted and developed right now |

His head fakes, fake passes and moves along the blueline are something I really have never seen before, He is joy to watch with the puck on his stick. He is also responsible in his own end. He will never bone crunching hit someone but his stick is always active and he puts himself in the way. He is gem! |

He is not even close to a liability, he plays 27 mins a night and gets involved in the play every shift. Any defenceman that can score at a point a game clip would be on everyone's wishlist, even if he does not play overly physical. Are you telling me that you would not want him on your team. Get Real 2Real. |
