Their PP has sucked for most of the year, aside from a great run with Ghost. It's just weirdly out of sync. Probably how the Pens' PP has been the last couple of seasons. Should be great, but isn't. I don't get it, but it's a killer in the playoffs.

pens pp struggles when they put people out of the position that plays most to their respective strengths, and when they just pass around the perimeter a ton and don't even ponder shooting.

you can get by with a crappy PP in the postseason for a little if you really generate even strength. simmonds is usually a huge danger down low but he can't create his own chances. captain obvious i know, but those pucks have to get through to give him a chance at the dirty goals.

I've got to imagine we hear G and Jake are going in for surgery once the season is over. The guys are both clearly banged up pretty badly.

I'm sure they're banged up, but I think this is more the exhaustion. This is what happens when you have no depth. You are forced to lean on the same players all season. Couturier missed a bunch of time too, so there was even more of a defensive burden on him this season.

I personally love this team. they are way outmanned talent wise, obviously gassed from the frantic playoff drive playing the President's Trophy champs while missing Coots and MDZ with two rookies. they are playing hard and guys are pressing.

do they need to upgrade.....absolutely but I love this team for how hard they play and I love the job Hakstol has done.
