I am fine if they go on a win streak and end up with pick 12

the goal is for these kids to gel and they may have a little confidence for the off season and come out firing in the fall

Yeah you definitely can't fault the tank for working. I don't want to be Edmonton.

Shot attempts with Casey Nelson on the ice: Sabres 20, Jets 8. With Hudson Fasching on the ice: 11-5 Buffalo.

In all honesty WIN may be the worst team in the NHL right now though.

Now that we've got a much better look at Reinhart this year, who do you guys think is the best forward from the 2014 draft class? Sam Bennett and Leon Draisaitl both look really solid this year too. Just wanted to see what people think?
- bsabres716

They are all really good.

I remember when people said we would forget who Draisaitl and Bennett were in a few years. That class is stronger than people anticipated

I think so too. I just remember from lurking around here last season that people thought Reinhart might turn out as a bust compared to those other two. Happily he didn't and it's crazy to see how well all three are doing on teams in low standing.

Bennett and Draistl are fine hockey players . But what will set Samson apart is his hockey smarts.

Calgary too. The problem with both is that their success was all goaltending. As soon as that came back to earth the team fell apart. Areas of need are pretty obvious with this team, hopefully they make major moves.

Didn't Bennett get voted the smartest player in the OHL by the coaches?

I agree Reinhart is exceptional in that area, but so is Bennett.

Fact is all 3 look really, really good

Not close to Samson's Ice awareness . Reinhart's defensive positioning and puck stealing ability comes from being in a family of hockey players . I know you would rather have Bennett here . But Reinhart is a joy to watch without the puck as well as with it . Bennett does not show me that.

I'm not sure that I'd rather have Bennett anymore. Reinhart is really impressive

If we end up 7th-8th. I'd say right now we have a shot at one of the two defenceman or SERGACHYOV (The russian) or PIERRE-LUC DUBOIS. I don't think Nylander will be there.

Odds Fasching makes the team next season?

I'd love to see him here...but it wouldn't be a tragedy if he was down in Roch for a while

I'd say 70% Depends what they do with Ennis/If they bring in a RW or a LW in trade.

Reinhart, Eichel, Kane, O'Riley, Gionta (all 100%) locks

Foligno Girgensons Larsson (All RFA's (85% 2/3 65% all three)

Deslauries 50 % Ennis 50% Moulson 55%

I'd say just off of those odds as long as Fasching is consistent and holds his own the rest of this season he'll be a lock for the team.

If all four one seeds make the Final Four and UNC beats Kansas in the National Championship, I win $1100.

I bet Fasching is 100% on the roster next season. Bailey too.

I think D-Lo is gone, and one of Foligno, Larsson, Girgs, Moulson are gone

Delauries is an RFA. I bet he's retained for a year or 2 at very cheap. And is likely the extra forward next year...

Bigger question is what happens to Ennis, Girgensons, Moulson, Larsson, Foligno and Gionta.

May 22, 2014. I remember when we thought this could happen...

All jokes aside, I am excited about Buff having three first rounders in 2015. Could end up being a heel of a rebuild. If Isles and Buff get 29th and 30th I am going to be so happy.

Zadorov & Ristolienen to Edm, for the 3rd overall pick.

Buffalo drafts the Sams.

The more I think about which Sam to draft, the more I think we need both of them.

If Reinhart is Nugent-Hopkins, & Bennett is Duchene... I bet theyd make a nice line with Girgensons.

Doesn't look that impressive as compared to when they are laid out in lines.
