The kid has Wheels and can handle the puck with ease.... We will see.. But all three I think have a serious chance to be NHL players....

No he doesn't he gets paid to make deals and pick prospects. If he can't make deals cuz he has alienated his peers then he needs to go.

Maybe so but by players it guys like Goose, Kaleta, Stafford, Weber, Sekera etc.... Not exactly a cup winning team.
Some of those players listed wouldn't make other teams squads.

he doesnt get paid to pick prospects, Kevin Devine does really.

He hasn't done a good job lately and I agree he should go, but its nto as black and white as you wanna make it sound.

Stafford goose and sekera would make any squad. Their contracts just stink or are overvalued

True. I'm just saying the numbers are inflated.
It's the quality of players on the roster, not the quantity.

New Garth blog and this one crashes to a halt. People should stop posting in Garth's blogs or stop complaining about it. I could care less which blog carries the conversation. Neither one has stellar content. It's all about the comments anyway.

Do people even watch Myers play? He is going to be a very good player for a very long time. He is inconsistent at times but he is 21 years old and asked to be the man. Some of our fans have unrealistic standards of where Myers should be right now. Give him a couple more years and then make your judgement.

Im not so sure I want more draft picks if Darcy is still in charge. I was just looking a the past several years drafting & it's average at best.

2009 got us Kassian, Foligno & McNabb. While promising talents, it's hard to judge yet.
2008 got us Myers, Ennis & Adam. ONE decent draft!!!
2007 is below average (Brennan, Tropp) 3rd line & 5/6 dman at best.
2005 & 2006 were pretty much busts & those are the players you would hope would be playing on your team now. (except Enroth, Gerbe & Weber)
2004 was average. (Staff, Sekera, Kaleta)
2003 was a bust besides Vanek.

Our #1 picks from 2003-2008: It's too early to look at 2009-2011.
Vanek, Stafford, Zagrapan, Persson, Brennan, Myers.

That is why the Sabres will not win a cup. You can't hit on 2 of 6 first picks.

So eveyone wanting to stock up on picks, you may want to rethink that if the current regime is making the draft decisions.

Eh. Don't really agree with this. I keep hearing crap about how Pittsburgh and Chicago "built" great teams. Here's my problem with it:

In the draft years that you reference, Buffalo drafted only once in the top 10 (Vanek at #5 in 2003).

In those same years, Pittsburgh drafted four times in the top 10 (#1 in 03, #2 in 04, #1 in 05, #2 in 06).

Chicago had four top 10 draft picks during that time (#3 in 04, #7 in 05, #3 in 06 and #1 in 07).

Granted, both Chicago and Pittsburgh found some good value late in drafts during those years, but you "build" a team by being bad for several years in a row. If you look at those drafts, the Sabres "hit" on about as many draft picks as either of those teams.

The team that most closely matches what the current Sabres have done is Boston. They had two top 10 draft icks during those years (#5 in 06 and #8 in 07), but the difference is they have filled their roster with really good trades and signings.

I didn't bring up that Darcy doesn't return calls. The comment was more directed at Goose.

She said, "you have your "sources" and I have mine." That implys that he didn't have a source at all so she didn't need one either.

Her post was that Burke wouldn't let Dudley go before the end of the season. She didn't have a souce because there isn't one. That's her speculation. I have heard interviews with Brian Burke where he was asked about his stockpile of assistant GMs. To paraphrase, he said that he would not stop any of them from taking another opportunity. I'm not going to hunt down that interview just to provide a source, but that's what the man said. Zero speculation.

The Burke interview is proof that Darcy is difficult to deal with, which doesn't prove the phone call comment, but it adds credibility to it. I just wanted to provide something that could be considered a source, be it good or bad. It's still better than just throwing out speculation and opinions.

I've listened to Leaf's Lunch among others indicating that BB took Duds under his wing to screw Regier's pooch.
Then again, if Paul Hamilton is to be valued with any sense of credibility, we can all be rest assured that there will be no changes and therefore, no offer tendered to Duds.
Brian Burke's interview is proof that Burke does not like dealing with Darcy, that's it.
Burke has cred, but to make such a broad statement on one man's comments is a far cry from a valid conclusion.
We have dealt w/SJ, VAN, STL and CGY in recent years with none of their GM's whining about Darcy's tight assedness.
