They made very little effort to generate offense in the third. They played to protect the lead. That's a dangerous strategy. Imho, of course. - Scoob
Agreed. I detest when they go into that "shell". |

There was a study done that, since tinder's inception, the STD rate in New Hampshire has risen significantly. Bottom line: Don't tinder if in NH. |

Laughton shot it right into his glove. He was too close to make any move, but he could have lifted it a little higher, then the red light would have went on. - Corporate_hater
He had almost no angle. When you standing alone in practice 3 feet from the net, it's easy to roof it. When you're moving to the side in a game and the goalie is standing right in front of you, it's more "impossible" than easy. |

You are clueless. Laughton shot it over the pad which is what pretty much any skater will try to do in that situation. What Mrazek did was not easy. Not only was going over Mrazek's glove next to impossible, it probably puts it over the net too |

nah, there's some pretty hot girls on it. can't miss out on a whole pool of girls. Girls you meet at bars who are willing to go home with you are just as likely or even moreso to have diseases than girls on tinder. |

Fair enough...I think it is somewhere in between. I think the going into a shell narrative is a little over used is all I am saying. There is an opposing team that can change the way the Flyers play...it isnt all just the Flyers deciding to be offensive or defensive |

Great article, as always, Bill.
Over the last few years I have never once read the word "growth" being used to describe the atmosphere in the locker room or the process the team is going through. Are old(er) dogs learning new tricks??? (Amac? Gudas - relatively low PIMs as of late).
Excited for this push-also excited for playoffs in the "Q" as First place Rouyn is about 1.5 hours away from me and 2nd place Val D'or is another 2 hours further up the road....
Hoping to catch Aube-Kubel on his way to a point-per-game in the playoffs this year.
Any talk about his progress and chances with the Phantoms next season, Bill? - dmorin
So I know Im not Bill lol but heres my take...
I have been really following closely this year.. more so than ever before. I watch as much as possible.. I catch highlights when I can. I have read stuff from scouts and league reps and what not. So the Q guys:
NAK has been a model of consistency.. He has still had his hot spurts, but very few "cold" spurts. Again he had some bumps and bruises but nothing too serious. Aside from proving that he can be a truly consistent player, he has really improved a lot within his two way game. +- is not a perfect way to measure that, but going from a -4 to a -1 to a +13 to an astonishing +38 shows how far he has come over his 4 years in the Q. He has a pro level shot that can go along with some straight forward playmaking ability. Not a crafty Giroux like passer, but more along the Schenn mold. He works hard and creates his own chances but is also a solid finisher when the puck is placed on his stick.
Now I didnt hear this with my own ears, but supposedly Hextall said he is really impressed and would not be surprised to see him with the Flyers next year. Thats pretty high praise coming from (if anyone) Hextall.
As for Philippe Myers, talk about a coming out party. Not only has he been one of the best offensive contributors from the blue line in the Q, he has been pretty damn dominant defensively as well. He uses his size and speed (and his reach) really effectively. He struggled in his draft year to really show what he was capable of, primarily because of a host of injuries (as Craig Button put it). Some like to compare him to Tyler Myers (because of size- he is smaller but still 6'5'') but Button like Parayko or Scandella as a comparable player. Button also said in a re-draft he could be sniffing at late first or more likely second round. Thats a huge jump from going undrafted!

I think we have to realize is laughton and cousins are 4th line players with 3rd line possibities on a balanced scoring team. |

I agree. Tinder just makes it a lot easier. Instead of a pool of 20, you have a pool of thousands. Lot higher odds of getting something when you have a lot more willing combatants.
Or you could, you know, do that whole "relationship" thing where you're not shoving your wiener into every willing girl. Or just have fun screaming pain every time you piss for weeks because the girl was "pretty hot." |

You are right that he shot it over his pad, but he also shot it right into his glove. He had room to shelf it though, which is what my argument is. Of course, it's easier said than done, but many other players have done it, so why shouldn't I expect one of our own to do the same? Mrazek just had to open his glove. Doesn't take extraordinary hand/eye coordination to do that my friend. |

i choose my spots carefully. I'll wait until i match with an extremely hot girl and then talk to her for a little and see if she's normal/has a good head on her shoulders and then maybe meet up with her and see if it works out. Usually it ends in sex but with the intention of hanging out beyond that night and seeing where it goes. I meet up with maybe 1 or 2 every other month. Usually they start wanting to push things forward too fast though which scares me off within a couple of weeks and i move on. |

the two division winners...1a plays WC2 and 1b plays WC1
We can say with a high degree of certainty that Washington will be playing the WC2 (8th seed) |
