Who would even be in contention for that award? Trotz? Maybe Sullivan for turning around the Pens. I'm sure the Canadian media will want Babcock for just making it through the season. - TobyFlenderson
Coach of the year for me is so clearly Boudreau that no one else really matters. Im sure Gallant will get some votes and probably Hakstol if they make the playoffs. Trotz for sure |

I dont disagree...it isnt even my favorite of the "fast food tex-mex/burrito" places...but having one this close to the office will be a game changer |

Laughton should be scratched because of his team low Flow/60...it is hurting them both on and off the ice |

Agreed. They should just take away every goal ever scored before 1995. |

I agree on Trotz. And the media loves him, which helps.
But I don't think he needs the media help this year. That Caps team is legit and Trotz is part of making that work. |

Thanks Bill. That was a close one. I don't know what it is about the team's play with just five minutes to go at the end of a period, but they continue to struggle, and just hang on. I feel bad for Mase, because he had another excellent game. Do you think any other goalie in the league could do much better backstopping this team? If you give Mase some playing time, he seems to excel as time goes along. But, because Mase plays on a mediocre team, he won't get the respect that he deserves.
Hats off to Raffl for kicking butt last night. I guess it's a good thing that we have players rising to the occasion the last few games, and not just depending on G, V-check, or Ghost to carry them into a playoff position. But, just think if the team would have played like that early on in the season, so that we wouldn't have them struggle at the end to make the playoffs.
It's also good to see Ghost make some defensive plays, and good ones the last few games. Yes, he can turn over the puck sometimes, or pinch at the wrong time, but at least he makes an effort to correct his mistake.
It will be interesting to see how they play the Hawks, and how the Flyers respond. For the most part, the last couple of wins should boost their confidence. However, if they fall behind early, the Hawks are not as easy to come back on. |

When I was watching I thought icing and figured it would end up in the net...I also thought that one at the end was icing and they waived it off so whatever...got the 2 point game we needed - YuenglingJagr

I didn't say they said "screw it." Imho, the defensive shell they fell into in the third period to protect the lead is a recipe for disaster in the long haul. - Scoob
I dont think they fell into a defensive shell is what I am saying. I think they just got outworked overall and Detroit was on a mission. The Flyers had chances but not possession. Mrazek made a fantastic save on Laughton. Ghost skated like the wind to get back on a 2 on 1 during 4v4 play.
Schultz on the PP was a little stupid but at that point it was just keep away

They made very little effort to generate offense in the third. They played to protect the lead. That's a dangerous strategy. Imho, of course. |

Panarin is going to win it. Regardless of how deserving ghost is. And he definitely is. Panarin will win because... point.. and.. blackhawks... that's reason enough right? Cuz (frank) the fact he's playing.with the lead point scorer in the league... and (frank) 2 way play... and (frank) the fact he's played against true men in the khl for years. This has me fired up, far too early in the morning. - benjichronic

Laughton shot it right into his glove. He was too close to make any move, but he could have lifted it a little higher, then the red light would have went on. |
