For the Flyers. the only player they wouldn't protect with a NTC/NMC would be AMac, and he may be willing to move depending on what they do with him going forward.

With only one team coming in I think we'll be okay. We might lose a prospect like Haag.

I get the impression he likes expansion, if only for more markets and more expansion moneys. I'm not clamoring for it, but I think the whole "expansion is diluting the game" thing is overstated.
- BulliesPhan87

He likes money. If the remaining teams were willing to buy out franchises at inflated rates, I don't think he'd be too upset. Besides, he could always allow a few expansion teams 2-3 years down the line.

no compensation

as for the latter, you'll have to convince ungle gary, and I don't think he's watching the forums these days.

I had no clue flyers had Anisimov. And why does wiki have him as a D man?

EDIT: unless that's just the same first and last name for another one?

Said players up to 2 years professional are protected....Guess it depends on when the draft would be. Also said players in 3rd year of ELC contract would not be protected.

It depends on how many years pro. If he's into his 4th season I think he might have to be protected. He'll be into his second contract by then. I don't know why they would opt to take an AHL player over an NHL player but I believe they're exposed too.

Not completely sure so you could be right. I just think I remember some team protecting an AHL goalie in one of the expansion drafts.

Boarding my plane to Palm Springs just now I befriended 2 hockey fans. One guy says to me, after I threatened to fight him after displaying my flyers t-shirt, "as long as it's not the Rangers. I hate them...and their fans."

My day is going just fine.

Not hockey related, but for people who work on cars:

I have an 05/06 Civic. I feel a very little bit of shaking in my steering wheel when I drive (guessing alignment), but a much heavier shaking in the wheel/pedal when I brake. I'm guessing out-of-round rotors. Is it worth going to a machine shop and having them milled/lathed, or just get new ones put on? Seems like I could actually do it in about an hour or so , assuming I have all of the tools (looks like just hex keys, sockets, and a mallet).

Last I read I saw one of McKenzie, Lebrun, etc say players would need "two professional years" in order to be eligible. I assume two seasons in the AHL would qualify? Beats me though.

Edit: that we're even discussing expansion annoys me. Adding teams is the last thing the NHL needs. If anything, I'd be okay eliminating 2 teams (which the NHLPA would never allow anyway) but otherwise leave it as it is. The NBA on the other hand may actually be watchable if they decreased their league from 30 teams to 4.

All I know is that they will not lose any of Ghost/Provorov/Sanheim/Morin to expansion. I don't think Myers will be eligible.

I do the same thing.

Jokingly saying "ohhhh well peace out" etc really gets rival fans to laugh.

What's his team?

Does this buy prospects more time overseas or in the CHL depending on when the draft is?

That makes much more sense to me. I'm against expansion but whenever this happens, it'll certainly make for some interesting discussion.

you'll probably need new rotors, probably wore them out. That poop can be expensive.

Didn't catch it..just heard them mentioning some teams but not the context. I frightened him a bit at first because he was looking me in the eye and didn't see the logo right away. It was funny. To me.
