Peter Tessier: Ladd's last Home Game, Drouin Still a Target? Some quick thoughts as Jets host Stars tonight in what could be Ladd's last home game as a Jet.

Coburn won't be dealt. He will probably leave this summer but we are geared towards this run this year. If any dman was gonna be shipped out it would be Carle (negative value).

I hope the jets find a way to snag Drouin. Peter, what do you think tampa really is going to get for him?

If Jets do business with Anaheim it has to be Lindholm or Theadore as the Left Handed D-Man coming back. I wouldn't budge on that and ANH has about 7 LD's in the mix.

Chicago I would want Right Handed D-Man Villa Pokka and a first then Trouba is in play and our right side is Myers, Buff and Pokka for next 3+ years.

I still go back to FLA and LD Mike Matheson and their 1st rd pick..I think that could be the trade we make

Definitely won't get Matheson. He just made his debut with us and is a lock to make our roster next season with the exodus of Mitchell and/or Campbell. I don't think Dale trades Crouse, either, since he hasn't played in the NHL yet. Crouse is destined to be a bottom nine player for many years and that's exactly what we need. I do think it's entirely possible he could deal Grimaldi. I also think that perhaps Weegar could be a target for you guys. Look into Weegar, he's a future stud on the blue line.

I can't see Fowler or Dano being traded for Ladd as a rental.... and Trouba for Drouin straight up would be highway robbery. Would need to be Drouin plus plus plus for Trouba and not just because of cap.

If Chevy is going to see an overpay it will be Tallon but I doubt it would be for Crouse. If that offer was there Chevy would have already taken it. My bet is a 1st and one of his better D prospects.

I think that Ladd gets flipped for a first and a prospect that fits what Tampa wants for Drouin. That's a 3 way that may work.

Matheson coule be in play? debuted against WPG which probably means nothing but optics were good for wishful thinkers.

I think Dale Tallon is one of the best GM and drafters out there and our man Chevy learned a lot from him...they will probably not give in to one another. It's kind of a student-master dynamic.

That said Matheson is a 10-year player in your top 4 on D and that has a high price

He may have just made his debut to be showcased to another GM. Matheson and Crouse are prototypical Tallon type players though. Agree that those 2 probably don't go for Ladd. More likely a 1st and Rocco or one of the D behind Matheson.

Hope Dale gets Ladd if the Hawks don't. Great fit for the Panthers. I really can't see Ladd playing with that scumbag Kesler or on the Kings.

Matheson made his debut because Erik Gudbranson was hurt and Brett Regner, who had replaced him, was bad and we were losing games. You're reading too much into that.

But yes, I definitely see Grimaldi or Weegar being in play.
