If the oilers could land Hamonic for Yakapov, it would be a steal.

Yak has bust stank all over him.

Why does it have to be a one for one deal Carol. I don't mind them throwing in a prospect, or even a bigger deal of two or three players

Sooo, how does Hamonic fit with Edler, oh right Edler and Tanev are both gone and the Canucks take the cap space and Hamonic and win the cup...silly me

You must know by now...no one fits with Edler.

Harmonic makes Edler a Norris winner for 4 years and then we trade him for 2 players at half the cap.

All joking aside with my above post, if you were the GM would accept 2 or 3 players or picks from Van for Hamonic, when the desired choice is to retain a like player, which would be Tanev.

I actually was trying to say Hamonic for Tanev and a second or Tanev and Gaunce.

Tanev was always part of the deal

Why trade Tanev + for Hamonic when we can trade Edler and sign 2 Hamonics at only 2.5 each.

Do you mean Tanev plus another player, or 2-3 picks/prospects who aren't Tanev?

I don't think Garth has waited this long to weaken his blue line significantly when his Islanders are in a playoff position. Right now, they're only one point up on Pittsburgh and NJ, and two ahead of Carolina, so it's not like he can afford to mess around. Other than Washington, the Metro race is very tight too.

If Snow doesn't get an offer/package that keeps his team the same or makes them better right now, I think he'll stand pat till the end of the season.

How about Tanev and Hamhuis for Hamonic and a second . If we have to retain salary on Hamhuis that's fine

It won't work. We gain no cap space from that deal.

Ahh, misunderstood, thought you were suggesting keeping Tanev and using the picks and prospects in lew of Tanev

Yes I totally agree with your assessment, I misunderstood Vantels suggestion, if I'm Garth and looking to assist Hamonics request I would want Tanev at the very least.

That would be a interesting start to a discussion, I would hope. I know Hamhuis has lost a step but I'm still a fan of his.

Oh right, we would need to sign 2 Biega's and have them both play in Edlers spot. I sure hope they let us have 3 dmen on the ice with 3 forwards and a goalie so that this plan works.
