Just got around to reading the story John Scott wrote for Players Tribune, goes to show that we know very little about a players background and are very quick to label them, rank and rate them as if we're a great judge and jury of all things regarding hockey.

I have lost a lot of respect for the NHL head office administration, and gained a lot more for John and his commitment to himself and his family. Especially by putting the story out there, I'm sure the Bettman gang will be out to make sure he pays for showing them as the a$$holes the are.

The skills competition that the NHL put on was complete crap, from start to finish. More players should take the one game suspension and skip the debacle, rest their bodies for the last 30 games.

Did you notice Bettman purposely avoid the the reporters question regarding someone from the NHL office asking "do you think your children will be proud", totally classless administration and Scott will be the one to pay...

The prospect of getting a top 5 forward in the draft is amazing. Our forwards would be set and we could focus on the D rounds 2 and on as well as sign a UFA in the summer. We would be back in contention in two years

I'm going to be kind and call this wishfull thinking. Unless luck is overwhelmingly on our side (and Canuck fans should know better than to rely on luck at this point), then we're further away than that. Probably a lot further.
