talk about perennial basement team please... where did FLA get Barkov, Huberdeau, Gudbranson, Ekblad come from? ignorance is such damn bliss
dirty hit for sure, but hey if you're taking runs at EDM's stars you probably shouldn't go blind into the danger zone behind your net with a grinder approaching. Ekblad'll learn, that is if all cognitive function returns
with the response from FLA fans (unicorns) directed at the oiler franchise/fanbase and not Hendricks, good riddance. Glad he crushed him. Hope Kassian runs Barkov in a few days.
How the hell could there be no penalty call on that? I can't wait until the NHL loses big money because they don't discourage that sh!t. That is complete negligence.
First I am seeing the hit. Looks like he left his feet and launched into Ekblad. the NHL is the most inconsistent league I nave ever seen when it comes to discipline. I don't get people calling for injuries. the players are actually people, not freakin robots.

Stop the video at :35 and you'll see that Gubranson takes a poke at the puck and then levels Hall as he touches the puck it's about as clean a hit as you'll find, just unfortunate timing for Hall.
Blind into the danger zone? Ekblad saw Hendricks and chipped back to his partner, his only other option to avoid the hit would be to keep skating and leave the puck for Hendricks.

No need to want to see another player get run at. Stay classy though bud.

I'm not a fan of either team, but if that was a retaliation for the Hall hit I would be embarrassed to be a Panther. Someone should have beaten his mug into a pulp. This is why the game still needs goons, only 2 referees and to get rid of that stupid instigator rule.
Does the NHL think those cheap shots will still happen if the instigator rule was gone?
Hall was barely even hit, it was weak. And Campbell just taps Hendricks on the leg or something?
Guess we all know who Panthers will be getting a trade deadline...some balls.
What the f*ck are you talking about? I guess Edm fans are just as ignorant as the team. The only perennial basement team is Edm, who seems to somehow magically win the damn lotto every year but seem to still suck year after year. Don't be mad at the fact that we have a great organization and our team is following suit. The hit on Hall was 110% clean!! Totally clean and legal. Hendricks hit on Ekblad was 120% dirty and cheap. If you want to "get retaliation" on a hit, then Hendricks can be a man and step to Gudbranson, who laid the hit on Hall, and not be a b*tch and blindside our best Dman.
F*ck you!
F*ck Edm!
I hope you and your team enjoy our beaches in the spring time during the playoff race, as well as a few rounds of gulf. we'll send our love from the playoffs

Why should they be embarrassed? Hendricks,Edm, and the NHL officials are the ones who are an embarrassment. Edm is a cheap, dirty team, which is why they are always dead last in the league. The NHL officials are an embarrassment with their constant missed/bad calls.
Campbell isn't a fighter, period! Shaw dropped the gloves with Hendricks and I'm sure Thornton will mess his face up come Monday, if Hendricks is playing. I am almost positive that Campbell (not that he would've fought) was expecting a 5 min boarding major, and game misconduct and was waiting for the call (that was not made)
Who are they going to get in trade deadline ,and why would they get a fighter and a goon instead of offensive help??? We have Thornton, Gudbranson, and Petrovic who can drop the gloves, as well as other players who are willing to drop the gloves if need be. We need more scorers, especially for a playoff run.

Oh, you're serious.
I'll assume that you're twelve and spare you the history lesson in futility also known as the Life and Times of the Florida Panthers.

I wouldn't call the Gudbranson hit a run at Hall. He was given a suicide pass at centre ice, only person to blame is Leon for setting him up to get levelled.
I guess with the title this is an invite for Oilers fans to come on here.
I'll bite I guess, even tho it looks like few care.
First off. That was a bad hit that deserved a suspension. Although I personally think one game would be adequate. I guess because Ekblad got injured they tacked on one or two due to the rules.
Hendricks is not a dirty player.
Ekblad put himself in a vulnerable position by turning his back.
It just wasn't THAT bad a hit.
I do believe the hit on Hall was more predatory than Hendricks', albeit clean. And I agree that the passer was the person most at fault.
The hit was retaliatory in that the game was escalating and Hendricks wanted to rise to the occasion. To say it was star for star, targeted, or malicious is silly. The officiating was letting everything go in that game, so they were partly responsible as well IMO.
As an Oiler fan I've been on the receiving end of too many of these o keep track of, and as much as it sucks its just part of the game.

Once upon a time, Hockey was played with respect, and physical play and fighting were part of the game. Nobody died.
I don't know when this mentality that a clean, hard hit requires retribution began, but I do suspect the instigator rule plays a part.
Nowadays enforcers and fighting have been basically made extinct, but they have been replaced by dirty, head-hunting rats, and someone is going to die, seriously.
I guess this re-defines "class-less" in Fla. That Daniel Sedin is a pretty decent guy after all...
I hope Ekblad is alright, hate seeing anyone suffer because of a cheapshot.
