Where's Schultz? He's played 1000 games which means he's really good. We can't lose a guy like that.
- jmatchett383

You've got it wrong. He's really good, and also not particularly injury prone, so he's lasted long enough to play 1,000 games.

You're welcome.

If Morin ends up playing against the other teams best players while maintaining a 50% CF and chipping in 15 ES points then, to me, that would be great, and that's what Coburn did for the most part.
- Feanor

Fair. I think the good thing in theory at least is this... If Sanheim, Morin, Provorov, Hagg, and Ghost are all playing in the NHL at the same time, I think it's a nice mix of playing styles. You don't have carbon copies, you've got a mix of players who bring different things to the table.

Pronman says that he has Werenski over Provorov because of a higher hockey IQ. There are legit reasons one could write but Provy's IQ????

No no no.

Nick Schultz is not quite as good at hockey as Tie Domi since he has played less games than Domi.

I think you're interpretation of the rulebook is incorrect. As soon as Schenn dropped the gloves first, there is no instigator penalty to Miller.

It absolutely is relative to discuss Miller's actions on the play, and if his actions on the play, before the fight happened, warranted a penalty of any kind, including instigation. It's what the entire discussion is about. Millers actions.

It's impossible to eliminate an opinion, because what the letter of the law is, requires an interpretation. I can only offer an opinion, in my opinion, by the letter of the law, there should not have been a penalty other than the 5 minute majors to each player for fighting, due to Schenn dropping the gloves first, as previously stated.

In any altercation on the ice, players will travel a distance. Doesn't make it a penalty. Miller did not retaliate before the fight. I do not think that skating over and giving a nudge with his stick to Schenn, reaches the level of retaliation.

You're incorrect. I did not ignore anything, in fact, I considered all of it, in reaching my opinion on the subject. I considered every aspect of the rule, in forming my opinion.

- MJL

Well you did ignore my questions at first, so I guess technically I am now incorrect although when I originally wrote that statement I was correct. So I guess you got me there.

It's not impossible to eliminate opinion when reading the rulebook. It says something, something definitive.
It says traveling a distance is a penalty, it says retaliating from a previous event is a penalty. There is no opinion on that. There is only the statement, if you choose to evaluate that that's your right but it's not what I asked you to do.

Pronman's rankings always look even worse when he starts explaining them.

Hagg's having a rough sophomore season in the AHL, but with his ability to play the right side I'm still hopeful he can play a role for the Flyers down the line.

Of the other D prospects, Friedman continues to be quietly impressive, while Marti has had a terrible time with injuries.

http://highlandparkhockey...k-with-phantoms.html#more

All in all, Marti is just excited to be back on the ice and is looking forward to shaking the rust off and being an every day part of the Phantoms blue line.

"That's the goal," Marti re-iterated the need to stay healthy. "It sucked big time. I came here with so many goals, with high expectations and most of the time the guys saw me in the trainer's room. I was pretty upset, but now I'm happy to be back and part of the team. I just hope it all works out now."

Nick Schultz is elite at poopting himself once he gets the puck onto his stick, which has enabled him to play 1000 games???

Thats confusing things. The debate is not about what the rule book says. The debate is whether the players actions met the criteria for the penalty. That is absolutely an opinion.

The rule book doesn't say that traveling a distance is a penalty. If it did there would be a lot more PP's. It takes a lot more than just traveling a distance to earn a instigator penalty.

Every question I ask or statement I make is by design to point to an obvious conclusion, and to examine the rule and factors that you claim that I ignored. Which I did not at anytime.

while we're on bad rules, the automatic delay of game penalty for putting a puck over the glass was proven awful again last night.
- BulliesPhan87

most idiotic rule. if you whack a puck out of mid air it really shouldn't be delay of game. same with Medvedev kicking the puck into the stands. can't tell me he meant to get it into the stands.

It should be amended to first having clear possession of the puck.
