That rule needs to be changed to the player has to have clear possession of the puck first, rather than just a deflection, or chop at the puck.

Couldn't agree more.

I never said that, please stop putting words into my mouth.

I said, in this particular instance, that he did so and a fight ensued because of it. That would qualify as "conduct in retaliation to a prior game (or season) incident."

- jmatchett383

Bad wording on my part, but that's something that you're not considering. Just because a player comes over to a player to laid a hit on a teammate, doesn't mean there will be a fight. It's not if a fight happened, it's about how it happened. How it actually happened was two players agreeing to fight, with Schenn actually dropping his gloves first. Rather than one player aggressively jumping a player, causing that player to have to defend himself.

Whereas Simmonds attacks the offending player, last night's Bruin skated up to Schenn and gave a mild crosscheck. Schenn knew he had to fight and even dropped his gloves first.

I was yelling for an instigator at first until I saw the replay, then I totally understood why there was no instigator penalty called.

- Neomike77

Again, the instigator rule doesn't say, "A player who drops his gloves first." That is one criteria. I believe that what you just described Miller doing is "conduct in retaliation to a prior game (or season) incident," is it not?

Whether the rule exist or not, calling for an instigator penalty is weak; it's a whiny beotch move.

There, I said it.

I fall a bit more in the middle, where I still find it irritating that Miller didn't get the extra 2, but I see how the rule can be interpreted that way. Either way, more than anything I just don't like the rule.

Before the fight happened, do you think Miller did anything that deserved a penalty?

Nah, I appreciate the support, but I'm just having a conversation and offering an opinion. Nobody is forced to participate.

or put you over the glass

I certainly don't think you should have anarchy out there, but you know, fights happen. Let the fight happen, and then move on. An extra two minutes and a 10 minute misconduct is far too punitive in my opinion.

Here this is going to go. I'm going to lay out an argument with solid points. But you will focus on the wrong points of this argument, making me frustrated, so I'm just going to say tacos.

Corey Pronman prospect rankings

Provorov #17
Konecny #23
Lindblom #37

No one else in the top 50. Sanheim is honorable mention (first 10 out)

For goalies, he has Sandstrom ranked #6 and Stolarz #10

- PhillySportsGuy

Provorov seems somewhat low...no?

That I will focus on the wrong points of the argument, is just your opinion. Which is no different than what I'm doing, which is offering an opinion. Difference is, my actual focus is on the actual play, rather than the poster.
