Thats confusing things. The debate is not about what the rule book says. The debate is whether the players actions met the criteria for the penalty. That is absolutely an opinion.
The rule book doesn't say that traveling a distance is a penalty. If it did there would be a lot more PP's. It takes a lot more than just traveling a distance to earn a instigator penalty.
Every question I ask or statement I make is by design to point to an obvious conclusion, and to examine the rule that you claim that I ignore. Which I did not at anytime. - MJL
This will be my last post, so feel free to followup all you want.
The debate, in my mind, is exactly about what the rulebook states, because we both agree that there should habe been a oenalty base on our interpretation of the play. But, if you take that law at face value, by letter of the law, Miller deserve an instigator penalty.
That is possible to do by the way, it's like reading a sentence that says Dave drove to the store. There is no interpretation in that sentence Dave drove to the store. If the sentence was Dave went to the store, then you can interpret how he went.
Additionally I didn't say you ignore the rule, I said you ignored me in my questions, which were simply yes or no questions, that you felt deserved a deep dive into.
Sorry for annoying everyone else, in the future I will refrain from responding

In order to determine a winner of the argument, we have decided to tally the number of times "letter of the law" has been said and crown the person who said it most champion

How did straka not get selected for AHL ASG? - YuenglingJagr
I don't think they wanted three guys from the same team, and Cousins and Stolarz are arguably having better seasons. |

I get that, but how does the guy who is second in the league in goals not get an invite?

Have fun with that... I was off work today, and I knew what I was getting myself into. It was a good way to kill a few hours. I knew the outcome when I started. |

When were you afraid to have adam hall out there? - JoeRussomanno
Hall was the go to man for defensive zone faceoffs you had to win, iirc he had a few shorties on the pk as well, so did Betts from time to time, but he was never a dominant faceoff man like hall was.

Look here, Petty Officer Sarcasm: The simple fact is that I am Captain Sarcasm. It doesn't matter what your friend wrote in your yearbook, because that's all hyperbole and heresay. In truth, your can't say that you didn't write that yourself when no one was looking, so erroneously proclaiming yourself Captain Sarcasm is a matter of opinion. We're here discussing the facts, ad I'm right. - jmatchett383
