Ya I'd say this is a pretty accurate account of the opinions on this thread. While some of us differ on who needs to go/stay or play more/less, it seems a collective acknowledgement that this is not a playoff team and picking in the top 5 is the best outcome of this season along with some player development.

I can get on board with this. We're going to lose a lot this season, but watching them play like they've lost before the puck has even dropped is hard to watch. The last 3 weeks have been too close to the Torts year for comfort. I'm not sure that's a great environment to develop in.
The Maple Leafs are probably going to finish behind us in the standings, as they should, their roster is brutal. But at least they come to play. Outside of the Sedins, Hansen and a goalie here and there you can't say the same about the Canucks lately. I don't mind losing, but I don't enjoy watching a team that has already lost. |

Totally agree, they have to find a way to compete. I think it's just a cold streak, myself, as we've obviously seen much better from this team earlier in the year. I just am hoping they stckpile some picks at the trade deadline as it seems luck as much as skill to me sometimes (although I know the argument will be that Detroit must be dam lucky). |
