This thread is funny. People want a competitive team, a winning team, a top 5 pick and to sell off assets for picks all while making the playoffs. All the while keeping every player who makes minimal mistakes but getting 1st 2nd or 3rd round picks for players who have played terrible. - Codes1087
It's even funnier that you don't actually read it, yet comment on it. We want a competitive team that wins. We know this means some bad seasons and hopefully top 5 picks. Which players are we over valuing too much? Hammer/Vrabata have higher value than you think. Higgins has higher value as well. None of us watch every team. Higgins would be better than some players in other teams bottom 6. If it adds more depth to a playoff run teams would give a 3rd for that. More likely a conditional 4th than becomes a 3rd if they team goes deeper. My point being is that some people look at the glass half empty and think they are worthless trash, some half full and may over value. The people who over value are probably closer than the people who under value. |

See you guys are starting to move over to the tank club.
Good for you. It can be fun if done well.

I am hoping Benning is as good at scouting as he seems. If he is ours will be faster than most teams currently tanking. If not we will be in the 7 year timeline Toronto is in. |

Half the battle is just trying to link moves with the stated plan. and figure out how flexible they are with their approach.
I think there is a good chance we will end up with what we need to be more competitive. by that I mean, If management thought we had enough skill to make the playoffs and we don't, we get a chance to pick up more skill with a higher draft pick. If we somehow get our act together and squeak into the playoffs, any nice run would mean players stepping up and salvaging their season(s). I am not sure what that would mean at tdl, but hoping one of the younger guys is a producer.

So first year into the rebuild we are firing the GM , the Prez, the usherettes, the parking attendants and the hot dog vendors - VANTEL
I'd like to fire the security that works the door. The pat downs no longer come with a happy ending. |

I agree.
It's refreshing to see a fan of a team think their own team will have a quicker rebuild than others. |

Hey Vantel. Next time you're at the BCL pick up a bottle of Toasted Head untamed red. It is by far the best cheap bottle I've had. |

I'll never be on board with a tank, which seems like trying/hoping to fail.
I want to team to be competitive (get more than 17 shots a game), try and if they fail to execute, or make mistakes and lose, well that's ok with me.

Ya I'd say this is a pretty accurate account of the opinions on this thread. While some of us differ on who needs to go/stay or play more/less, it seems a collective acknowledgement that this is not a playoff team and picking in the top 5 is the best outcome of this season along with some player development. |

Mo is big into sports fishing. Has his own TV show. I'm sure all that time on the water takes its toll. |
