So, I don't mean to sound like a whiner, but COrrado is still yet to play a game for the Leafs, did a conditioning stint (7 games I think) after an entire summer of training. He was recalled Nov 5th, did not play versus Detroit or Washington. At what point do the Leafs admit they made a mistake and have to pay compensation?

No he goes back to his original team . Another team can still then claim him from Canucks if they send him down .

What Canucks should do is offer sheet Morgan Reilly for a 7 years 7 .3 mil ( first second third) force TO to match . Eat up their cap space on a bridge deal. Or if you are serious about Reilly as a number one D man in Vancouver offer him 9 mil and give up 2 firsts and a third. I am not sure he is worth it but I see him like Duncan Keith and we have the cap space.

Attack their RFA for years

Burkie may do it for a little payback also or the Wings or Buffalo. Leafs have been leaving a trail of enemies

I think Babcock is overrated... and his whinging about the net sizes just shows he's fitting right in with the leafs...
- kaptaan

Obviously he is. I mean we've been saying this all the way back to his Anaheim days right?

In the end the Canucks put him on waivers and kept weber so they are guilty IMO.

The leaugue should recognize that something is not correct and step in but since shanadog is licking @ss in NYC with Lou lame they get away with it. Just imagine te officiating if the leafs ever make the second round.....

The Leafs aren't breaking any rules . They are just being dycks. The best way to deal with a Dyck is to kick it in the nuts. Payback .

i like the offer sheet idea. just pick off the one real asset the leafs have going forward or hamstring them.

Every team does it and he's had a few issues with it, doesn't detract from the fact he's been the most offensively talented dman for the Canucks for several years.
- LeftCoaster

Only until next year when Hutton becomes our best Dman. Hutton-Tanev will make a great combo.

No, back then he lead a ragtag bunch of misfits to the finals. but after he got to Detroit and won just one cup with them, he stagnated and Q showed him who's boss.

Now it's Q time.

TO be fair. Mike didn't get to draft Kane at 1st or Toews at 3rd. There's no way to tell, but i wonder if Detroit could've won a second cup with those two guys. Not to mention Cam Barker at 3rd overall.

He's not overrated just doing what he can with what he has in TO. Leafs actually are looking decent prospect-wise but by the time they are developed Babcock will be in EDM.

Why do they have to pay compensation if he was picked up on waivers?

According to the fantastic Toronto-based journalist, James Mirtle, Babcock has the biggest ego in hockey, so i doubt he'll leave and pass up the chance to win a cup in Toronto.

Why go to Edmonton, when it's handed to you on a platter?

I think ego would follow anyone around with all those gold medals and a Stanley Cup championship. Hard to say if Babcock will have the patience to wait things out in TO. He has ties to this area and I keep hearing he may look at coming back to AB and EDM would be a fit. He was looking hard at EDM before signing in TO. Babcock ran our practices here when I was playing junior when he was coaching the Red Deer College Kings. From what I could gather at that time I could tell he was gonna be a solid coach so I'm not sure where the overrated moniker comes from.

I wouldn't say he's overrated. I'd take Quenville, personally, but that's doesn't make Babcock a bad coach. People are going to get irritated though. The Maple Leafs are still the headliners and he's the only thing about them currently worth talking about.

It mostly comes that he had Zetterburg, Datsyuk in their primes and Lidstrom who is one of, if not the best defenseman all-time (Orr is/was more talented though) and could only win one Cup with that team. Coach Q won 3 with Toews, Kane and Keith (Toews/Kane and Zetterburg/Datsyuk in their primes are a wash in my opinion and Keith while great is nowhere near Lidstrom) and might win at least one more with this group.
