That's interesting you mention stats, what with Edler being second in +/- and having great possession numbers(people equate this to Tanev, but come on folks give the guy some credit). I do love how the fans have turned on Edler, in general and/or Hamhuis. I understand wanting to ship them out for assets, but if the team keeps winning then why bother. Its not like our d-pool is deep... in fact, we have zero NHL defense in the AHL. I know there are probably some people with Biega boners on here, but the guy is average.

Edler has ALWAYS been better than Hamhuis, neither is a top two guy at this point but Edler is clearly better because he's more offensive and just as defensively responsible as Hamhuis.

Karlsson and Suban led the league in giveaways last year because they try so hard to be offensive, Edler is very much the same in that he tries to be offensive but has a lot of giveaways.

He also plays the most minutes in a defensive situation and does well at it.

I think Edler makes more bonehead plays, panics when pressured, gives the puck over continually, but man does he look good firing a puck from the point 5 feet wide, great offense.

Hamhuis plays quite well defensively, never panics when being pressured, doesn't give the puck away, but man he has the worst point shot on the team.


So take your "doesn't know hockey" comment and stick it...

Miller was the exact same way in Buffalo. I knew it would only be a matter of time here with the post game blame. Right or wrong... keep it in the dressing room.

There Lefty you happy. When he plays with an edge his is a more offensive player. He is not consistent with that style of play though.
