How about moving both hamhuis and edler? They both could fetch guite the haul of future building blocks - PetrolSexual
Absolutely. Paired up they might get a high 1st or two reasonable 2nds.
Philly has been knocking on Edler for years and I'm sure there are teams that would take Hammer.
Burrows to MTL sounds good for their cup run and Hansen to WPG for their playoffs.
Higgins to anywhere for a 3rd will be good.
THEN...we are headed in the right direction. |

I wouldn't mind keeping hansen, still young with great speed and a solid 3rd line producer. Don't forget Trading Vrabata. but to whome and for what? |

That check is a perfect example of an overreaction by the refs. it's definitely a penalty, but a 2 minute minor is what it should have been. Looked significantly worse than it was. shocking, a player who appears devastated by a hit comes out later to finish the game seemingly unscathed.... just shocking. ( this is an observation on the NHL as a whole and not against the Canucks specifically for the record) Unfortunately the NHL has quite a bit of that soccer mentality wherein once you've been hit, make absolutely sure people think you've been killed to receive the longest powerplay possible) |

40lb weight difference as well. McCann said himself he had the wind knocked out of him. |

Ya sorry forgot Vrbata he for sure needs to go at TDL. I like Hansen too very versatile up/down all 4 lines the thing is we may need to include him in a deal to get some value back.
We need Vrbata to flirt with 20 goals for value at TDL. Many teams need secondary scoring for the playoffs as I fear that Vrbata's primary scoring days might be over. Problem moving Vrbata of course is that he is soft for playoffs and teams will look at that. |

How about Miller, Sven and Hammer to Ana for Ritchie, a goalie (Khudobin/Anderson), and Cogliano (salary dump). |

I like it but that's gonna be tough to convince ANA to take more of our throw ways...they already have Bieksa and Kesler underperforming would they take a chance on Miller Sven and Hammer? |

Didn't you hear? Teams love our throw aways. Anh likes to trade for them, and Toronto likes to pick them up off of waivers or sign them as UFA's. |

I was saying that yesterday. I don't understand how people on the panels can watch a replay over and over and actually not see any of the details... the head snapped when hit... so obviously that means the player charged down the ice(he was standing beside the net and took one step...maybe 2)....... flew through the air(didnt happen)... hit the player from behind(was shoulder to side)... principle head contact(principle contact was body).... long after he moved the puck(less than a second).... even though none of that happened... none of it.
... but the head snapped on impact.... so all that is irrelevant. |

Chris Higgins is on a two-game scoring streak after he gave the Canucks a 1-0 lead off a headsy spin-and-shoot move just 2:20 into the game.
Higgins is on a hot streak... wait until he cools and leverage the streak to get a second... |

I could see JB being more interested in NHL-ready prospects or young NHLers than just all draft picks. Rebuilding on the fly will take some more developed prospects than what you'll find in the 2nd and 3rd rounds |

But he may have also learned that what we have in the system is worth the risk. Shink is better than Baerschi. Gaunce is preferable over Higgins. Etc |

Im not so sure, guys like Shink aren't his picks so he was probably as familiar with Sven as Shink. Also in the AHL Sven has been better (though been there longer), doesn't mean it will translate to NHL production. I just think if JB can deal for a guy under 25, even if the player only projects to be a 3rd line or 4-6D, he makes those deals instead of hoping a pick over 40 turns out to be an NHLer in any form |

Are you suggesting that McCann embellished to draw a major?
He was clearly shaken up by the hit, and got right up and skated to the bench. He wasn't embellishing anything, he took a massive hit and I think took it like a man. |

I said it over and over, the time to move Vrbata was last summer when he was a 30 goal scorer. No one will give a first for a thirty five year old 12 goal scorer at TDL |
