I heard he was already traded to the Leafs for some plugs(Polak and Komarov and a 2nd round pick). They are just waiting to announce and make it official. |

Great to have Lightning blogger again! Go Lightning go!
Hopefully Tampa resigns Stamkos but don't expect him to take a discount. Stamkos and Hedman will need to be paid near Maximum dollars and term. I hope the contract doesn't become a major distraction for the whole season. |

He's a blogger, but I'm pretty sure he's not going to be exclusively lightning. |

Damn Benedict Arnold! |

Good luck with that Stevie!
Good luck trying to muzzle Don Meehan and/or Pat Morris who will be looking for every ounce of leverage throughout these negotiations. Leaks and rumours are among player agents' #1 tools, for Yzerman to think that they won't be used is nothing short of delusional and wishful thinking.
Not saying that Stammer is leaving TB, but these negotiations will be very public as is to be expected with a player of this status and caliber. |

Stamkos will be signed soon enough. If not, he will be moved to the highest bidder. He will be the highest paid player in the game. Crazy as it sounds, moving him in a sign and trade deal is not necessarily that bad an idea. The return would be as big as any deal ever. Not sure teams need the cap headaches that a $10m salary brings.
Need to remember Tampa can sign him to an 8 year deal now and other teams can only offer 7 year deals next summer. So, any Tampa deal is a guaranteed $10m. more over the life of the contract and he pays no state income tax in Florida. Hard to figure a way that he does not stay. |

Because Toronto and the Mapleleaf's are the center of the hockey world! They are the NHL's Mecca. How can you not understand that? The teams ownership, perfect. The teams management, brilliant. The teams players, best in the NHL. Their fans, the most knowledgeable and kind. The media, forgiving.
Everybody on earth wants to play in Toronto and for the Toronto Maple Leafs! From little boys born in the frozen tundra that is Siberia, to girls in the Middle East in their burca's. Little boys in Africa dream of wearing the Mapleleaf proud on their chest, just as a Aboriginal Australians would be proud to wear the blue with white. Toronto is another name for heaven around the world! |

Haha, no, it won't be exclusive but I'm pretty pumped to blog about the Bolts in addition to my Bruins/editing/social media responsibilities. Watched a ton of their games last year, lots of fun. |

The bolts last year to go for the cup with this core, unless Hedman and Stamkos take some major discounts, they are going to have to move some depth.
I'll be rooting for them right behind Isles |

I'm gonna give you the heads up now, I'm a complete (and I mean complete) bumhole. I am NO fan of the Bruins, or Boston, or New England in General. Go ask Michael Stuart about me, I'm MANY fries short of a happy meal.
I guess it could be worse, it could've been the Pittsburgh or Toronto bloggers. Or Worse, we could be trying to read it in French.

If Stamkos does indeed leave then ALL our cap issue leave with him. |

Well, if you ever come up to Boston, I'll do my best to change your mind with some good pizza and root beers. - tyanderson
I'm over 21 although my IQ isn't. So how about some Guinness and good Irish pub food? |

Welcome, glad we have a blogger for the Bolts, so who are you going to write for the four times hey play the Bruins?
So tired of hearing the Stammer extension, it will be done soon enough and the hell with cap issues any year but this one. This year is all we need to worry about not next year or the year after, that's why we have Stevie Y. Right now I want to see how they get out of the gate after the long playoff run, who makes the jump to the team and who is expendable. Does Drouin step up and it's time for Sustr to play better and Koekkoek to make the club. How do we lose Carle faster than a prom dress hitting the floor. |

Retain 2 million in cap.
And why would you take a prom dress down? They go over the head a lot easier. |

Not even close
Hedman and Stamkos are their core. They will be competing as long as they are there |

Most Toronto area kids want to play for the Leafs when they are growing up. Most adults love the idea of no state / provincial income tax. This is going to be close because Stamkos would earn a huge amount in endorsements in the GTA while a player and in retirement. |
