Nylander was the best prospect of the tournament, including all teams.

Three other teams, yes there was some that had very good games, Sprong, Hudon to name a couple.

Nylander was above all of them, IMO.

He has looked really good. Even if he really impresses in camp, if they want him to get experience and groom him at center then let him do it with the Marlies for full season. He will have some decent wingers to dish to and build chemistry with and hopefully they all make the jump together in the coming seasons.

If he's that good no need for the AHL anymore. whats left to learn there?

i think they have to put him with a winger like JVR to see what you really have.
another big guy on the other wing would be good too

Didn't watch this one, but from the six minute highlights, Marner made some nice passes. Who's Nikolai Skladnichenko?

Nylander sure knows how to handle the puck. Head up the entire time.....

I would like to see him dominate the AHL the way he has this tourney before any callups or being handed an NHL spot. This is pretty much echl exhibition hockey. Again though, who is Nikolai Skladnichenko? I know about Soshnikov, we grabbed a second young KHLer?

It's not that he won't earn it, it's insulating him from the pain that is to come this year.

he's young. i don't think it effects the ones just making it as much as the older guys.
the older guys get down but the young ones are very happy to be there

Sprong was very good for Pittsburgh, on the other hand, Pouliot is a key player for them this season and I thought he was invisible last night except when he cross-checked Marner into the boards.

Fucale looked good for Montreal and Puempel for Ottawa, who has been to the rookie tournament 4 times.

There was quite a few the same age or older than Brown in this tournament, he could have played instead of some invitees.
