Nylander looks like he's out of place, he plays like he's been a pro for 5 years...he really is going to be a great nhl player. Better than Marner I think. - ThePresident
and yet there are people that will stay say that they wanted Ritchie instead
Ritchie at WJC on a stacked Canadian team playing a lot of shifts with MacDavid

It's too early to make any judgements yet, but when comparing the two, Nylander is a year older, and in that year he played 43 games vs. men with MODO and 37 with the Marlies.

Nylander looked better than Marner when they were both the same age, in my opinion.
Give it time amigo. Let's assess after this season. - mykokes
Not saying Marner is not going to be good, I just think Nylander is going to be a really great player. He seems to have the it factor, you can see it by how he plays, and how he carries himself. If the draft were being held today, and Marner and Nylander were both in it...lets say when they were both fresh out of their respective junior teams...I'd select Nylander over Marner...again hypothetically if they were in the same draft year, same age, etc. He should be ranked in the top 5 prospects throughout the league.

Too pretty to be an effective NHL player. He's Tlusty pretty.
you never saw Nylander before he had played Pro hockey though... He was playing Pro in Sweden before Leafs drafted him. - Badge
Some guys watch everybody somehow. I have no idea how some of these guys follow as many future players as they do. One of my favourite moments was listening to a Wings fan the day Dekeyser was signed. I just happened to be in the store when a conversation started about him. This guy said he had followed him in all his games, and he knew from the start he was gonna be legit from his start in college. Now that's dedication!

i dont think i've seen a single college hockey game in its entirety
with how poorly people assess nhl players they watch 82 games a year on their favourite team i got to admit i tend to not even read what people have to say about some prospect they saw a youtube highlight for unless they're quoting a scout lol

Nylander had just a pretty inconsistent draft year from most reports, hence why he dropped. Marner lit up the OHL in a top heavy draft, averaged 2 pts per game. Now idk who will be better and I won't act like I do but this comment doesn't make sense

I can only assume he means Nylander stood out more on his first rookie tourney than Marner did in is one.
Nylander played half a season for Modo in his draft year, so I assume he would consider that pretty good for an Undrafted 18 yr old.

I don't think nylander player more then 1 game last season in the rookie tourney did he? Nylander didn't have a lights out draft season otherwise he would have went higher and Carolina and Vancouver would never have passed up on him. Nylander past season was unreal though but talking draft seasons idk how anyone can say Nylander draft season was better then Marners.
