Hello everyone. I just wanted to post an article on some of the features that I believe are necessary for this particular website.

1. Ability to follow your favorite authors.

As it is now, it is impossible( to my knowledge), to follow a specific writer or author. MyHockeyBuzz should be exactly that, MY hockeyBuzz. I do not wish to read articles about random, redundant information. I want to see articles pertaining to my team, written by authors I enjoy reading. There's a wide range of topics by authors of various skill levels. Some are great, while others are terrible. Adding a feature which allows one to "follow" or "favorite" specific authors would allow the administration of hockeybuzz to see who is popular, and who is not. Good authors would be more readily accessible, while less skilled authors would be limited. I am all for amateur writers getting a shot, but having mistake-riddled articles advertised on the home page questions the legitimacy of the website.

2. Eklund: limit the posts about nonsensical rumors which are clearly untrue and have no business making the home page. I understand that these far fetched posts create a lot of excitement and response from the community. However, half of the replies are comments about how ridiculous the claims are. If half of the community thinks that the main author is fraudulent in his claims, why would anyone even use the website? Almost everybody on the forums does not trust him, or his articles. I am sure that he has some sources, and maybe some good ones. However, all great hockey insiders have one thing in common; They only advertise the truth. You will never see Bob Mackenzie tossing around lies. He sticks to the facts and advertises rumors which he has confirmed to be true. He may not always be right, but he always does his research and never makes up garbage.

3. Errors / Issues with posting comments. For a website which charges money to use, it shocks me that posting comments is such a disaster. I have been having comment issues for weeks now, and nobody has sent me a message with a resolution. I have utilized the forums and the solutions offered were anything but helpful. I used the "contact us" feature over a month ago and nobody has got back to me. Unfortunately, people will not pay for a service which is not reliable. The development of this website will be forever stunted until these issues are repaired.

4. Team Authors: I have been following several authors from the website who write on one team specifically. This is a cool feature, and has some potential. However, some of the authors are not so familiar with the game. They are skilled writers, but not the best hockey analysts. Being a hockey insider takes more than just writing skill. I would never want to read a hockey article written by Stephen King or J.K. Rowling. I want hockey news written by people who eat, sleep, and live hockey. I find it ridiculous when I read articles that are basically just following the players and their lives. I do not care what Daniel Sedin's house costs, nor do I want to hear about what brand of hot dog Phil Kessel prefers. This is not reality TV, and I do not want my hockey news looking like the next episode of the Kardashian's. I believe these highlighted team author's need to be scrutinized and regulated much more closely.

OK, sounds good. I will let them know right away. I just felt like posting these issues for other users to view and acknowledge. I am not slighting the website, or the authors. I just think that a little accountability and a few small adjustments would really help the site evolve.
