I was "sick" upon hearing the news of the Saad trade late Tuesday, but then felt that I had "digested" it before hitting the hey that night.

I really like Dano. Impressed with what I saw from him in Columbus, and I like the idea of a sort of "padawan" relationship with fellow countryman Hossa. (that's a Star Wars reference for those of you who are ALL about hockey and nothing else! LOL). In and of itself, the notion is intriguing. But regardless, 'tis a great pickup methinks!

At first, though, my thoughts were similar to others in that Anisimov was likely an addition that was either to be packaged for something else (mostly because I couldn't understand the idea of taking on his salary, which would probably amount into about 1/2 of what it would cost to retain Saad anyway), or I thought that maybe Hawks management wanted someone to "translate" for Panarin while also serving as a 2nd line center option for the next season. Then I read that Bowman had been "hot" for Anisimov for some time, and things became clear that Anisimov was an important piece coming back when Bowman extended him in a hurry. (?? scratching head ??) Add Tikhonov and we've got a real Russian flare happening with these new Hawks, and so be it. Chalk it up to a son trying to emulate his legendary father, perhaps! LOL

But just so I feel better and can sleep well again this evening (and because Bowman will never reach out to me and explain what makes Anisimov oh so attractive in a Hawks uniform! LOL), I submit the following: . . . . . .

For my tastes--because I have no more favorite a pastime than serving as armchair GM for my fave team(s)--let's turn back the clock and give Columbus back their Anisimov, Morin, & Tropp combo . . . let them keep Broadhurst and Paliotta and we'll keep the 4th Rounder. . . . . . Apparently Columbus was also keen on Rundblad not too long ago; simultaneous with that, Kerby Rychel is apparently available. The following would have been more to my liking:

To Columbus: Saad, Rundblad, Broadhurst, Paliotta
To Chicago: Dano, Rychel, 4th Round Pick

Ahh, serenity now! (and that's a Seinfeld reference!) Have a good day, Hawks fans!
