Yeah, it would take more than a middling prospect like Pouliot, a late 1st rounder, and two 35+ year old salary dumps to acquire Kessel. - The Shrike
Pouliot isn't a middling prospect. Hockeysfuture has him as the #7 overall prospect in their spring rankings, right ahead of guys like Gibson, Draisaitl, and Teravainen. Even if you personally don't agree with that ranking, the fact a site that does nothing but rank prospects does should tell you he's much better than middling.
That rumored trade is probably not enough for you, but Pouliot at least is an elite PMD prospect. |

I want no part of Ryan Ellis. If the Leafs were dealing with Nashville, there are three or four pieces not named Jones that I would want over Ellis. - BorjeFan4Ever

I would send next years first in that deal, but I don't think its enough.
It really depends on how bad Toronto wants Kessel gone |

If you're including Hodgson, you have to include a 1st or a good prospect. When they buy out CoHo, they are stuck with a small hit for a long time. |

I think if anyone can fix Hodgson it would be Babcock.
I am not sure he would be a buyout candidate on Toronto.
But yes you are probably right |

Probably the same as we were saying here before ROR, give him one more year since its not like money matters and neither team is contending.
That said, with their love of Phil, their rebuild, and the rivalry, Foligno isn't getting you close. |

Foligno and a 1st kind of fits their rebuild mode. But yes more would probably have to be included. |

Didn't realize he was only 23…
McCabe would be my guess not that it matters since it won't happen |
