The longer he stays the less value he has - VANTEL
Maybe so...but if he flirts with 30 goals in the regular season again I bet we could get a decent asset at TDL... |

Canada looked ugly in the first half but fortunately brought their 'A' game in the second. Great win for the lasses - Zogg
It was scary . Desiree Scott what a player. Easily my favourite player in the world |

You think he will flirt with thirty goals on the second line. He already has 30 goals trade him now |

I thought it was a great team effort but, yah, there were some great performances by various individuals as well |

I hear you but the potential is there and it will be tough for us to replace those 30 goals at present. His PP time and the threat with the Sedins like it or not is a good option...and he will be back on the Sedin line. Yes we have a quadruple threat with Kassian/Burrows/Vrbata/Hansen to rotate in/out with the Sedins and even though I agree that moving Vrbata/Burrows now would be a good option, that threat is also a good option to have with the Sedins for now. |

I don't know the answer to this but how many teams have been to the Cup finals twice in the past 24 years? - LeftCoaster
Adding to that how many teams have never had a 1st overall pick other than the Canucks? |

Technically, we did have the 1st overall pick when we drafted the Sedins in 1999 (Traded to Vancouver by Tampa Bay then subsequently traded to Atlanta for the 2nd overall) so I believe only Boston has not had a 1st overall pick if I'm not mistaken |

If i recall correctly Sedins went 2 & 3. McCabe was dealt.
Burkey had the upperhand with the Sedins wanting to be drafted together. |

If something happened to make WD not play Vrbata on the Sedin Line in the playoffs, what makes you think he will be on that line next yr?? IMO Vrbata, Lack and Bieksa are all gone by the end of the Draft |

Exactly. Tanking, or getting a top 3 pick does not necessarily mean you get Toews, Crosby or Doughty.
You may end up with E.Johnson, Filatov, Brule or anyone on the Oilers (that so far has not turned them into a playoff team).
It's a game of chance.
- dbot
OR you may end up with a Patrick White |

My guess is maybe Vrbata may have been outta line in the dressing room.
Something is not jiving in other words.
I can see Lack gone for an early to mid 2nd asap.
Bieksa asked to waive n gone for another 2nd prolly a mid or the TDL.
Vrbata to say Pitt or Montreal or NYI by draft day or a TDL deal. |

They did, Burke traded with Tampa for the 1st overall (the Canucks had the 3rd overall that year) and traded the 1st overall to Atlanta for the 2nd overall (they took Patrik Stefan 1st overall who was as big a bust as Alexandre Daigle) and took Daniel 2nd and Henrik 3rd.
