Yeah I agree, that price is way too high. Especially with the flooded market of available goalies that Anderson is pretty much on par with. - StoopLemur
Anderson is better and more proven than every available goalie mentioned.
while the price and the extra contract we'd apparently have to take on might make it too steep, any line of thinking that says we need a true starter instead of gambling for cheaper isn't a silly contention.
while all of lehner, lack, jones or whoever may have ceilings comparable or higher to Anderson, hes the only proven quality starter among the group. and we desperately need a solid starting goalie this year |

I think we could all agree he is the best goaltender available. But his injury history and the price are major factors. If what Murray is asking is real? I hang up the phone. |

while hes missed some significant periods 2 of the last 3 seasons (played 60 in 2013) id trust that to my doctors. he could be fine going forward. not to mention he was healthy for a stretch at the end of this year and probably would've got a another 5ish starts had Hammond not been playing unconscious (40 starts isn't terrible). I think we had this conversation last offseason regarding chris Kelly, no? while we can agree to disagree on how much he would've helped or not, he played 80 games this year after serious injury concerns. guys get hurt in the nhl, it happens. no reason to write off a guy.
but as far the price tag, of course youre right.
essentially, yaks and we have to take greenings contract? no thanks.
not to mention that andersons is a little longer than im comfortable with.
but if Ottawa can be waited out and the price brought down, id be fairly happy with acquiring Anderson. and that's assuming that what the pundits are saying about the price tag is actually true |

All boils down to the right price. I wouldn't give #16 for Talbot either.
I guess we'll just have to wait an see what PC does then criticize it in hind sight |

Damn -- Augello has a trade on his board of Dion + 24th overall for Draisaitl... I wouldn't do it, but it's almost tempting. |

not a chance I give 16 for Talbot. ill be super pissed.
its essentially the same route mact took ( an older career backup that played great behind an infinitely better defence)
only difference is that this price tag is WAY higher than mact paid.
end of the day, now that we got ourselves a real gm, im just waiting for him to do what mact was unable to do because he was so bad at his job.
im expecting significant moves and additions of star players without giving up any of the core or anyone that will hurt us. as well as signing top notch free agents for bargain prices.................................
