They come and go and sometimes we pay the price for it but it's fun.
Overall I just think HB gave us this thread so hopefully we wouldn't wreak havoc in the other threads.
You typically don't have to trade for a goalie with a .905 Save pct. I'm sure they can pick one up as a UFA, why give up any assets. - smellmyfinger
So, 100 % thanks to this Alfie kid, Lehner is one of the most hated players among Oilers fans? - HonkyTonkMan
Obviously the Oilers and their fans have interest in Lehner, you probably forget but when you first started posting these ridiculous trades the issue wasn't Lehner but rather the asking price.
Now we just tell you (frank) off or feign disinterest because we're all sick of seeing your outlandish trades that "help" both teams. - Dangles13
It's really simple, you guys don't know what you're talking about with Lehner. HonkyTonk are you asking fans? If people let themselves get sour on Lehner because of 1 guy then that says a lot in itself.
Price was getting booed in Montreal at Lehner's age. Huet gets traded and people freak out. ONLY reason I want Lehner out is IF he goes to EDM; any other team it better be a F***ing good price.
Dangles, the trade a loong time ago was Hoffman, Cowen, Lehner, and I believe the 18th pick for Ebs+ a roster player. It isn't something to freak about.
He's considered the consolation prize to a 27 year old undrafted player from the University of Alabama in Huntsville who made his NHL debut at the age of 26. - rangerdanger94
Wow man, sometimes I think people forget the obvious about hockey. Opportunity is everything. Lehner got hurt, Hammond comes in and runs the table; team also played much better in front of him. Hammond is certainly not playing like that but can play back up. Talbot same thing, he's riding a wave and if you want to be stupid and get a guy like that (not saying he can't work out but the current states are so different)
Seriously? Come on...you must have something to offer the thread?
Tell us all the teams that Dion would be a top pair defender on.
I'll do the first 2
1. Toronto
2.Edmonton - HonkyTonkMan
Agree. IF phanuef played on top pairing HAVE to play with a star D-man. Even then he's ideal as 3rd D-man that's getting paid 4.5-5.5M max

Actually kid...I was listening to Jason Greggor on TSN 1260 radio today and he interviewed some expert on goaltenders today and they went over a bunch of potential targets for the Oilers, and he said that Lehner has actually regressed for 2 consequetive seasons. Throw in the mashed potato brains and he said the Oilers should avoid him like the plague. So yeah, I'll take this guys opinion over some posters, for sure.

Ya I listen to the station too and since I'm not just a "poster" ... I'm a poster that cheers for both the Sens and Oilers I can say they are partially right, Lehner has regressed but it's been up and down. Saying it like that makes it sound like he's getting worse; which isn't accurate. He played REALLY well at times and hasn't taken the bull and ran with it. Whatever man, whoever goes after him will be getting a good deal and I'll go on record for saying that. Beyond health don't see him circulating the runway for too long
