Got a couple buddies that work with some scouts and was told they weren't too impressed with a certain German centreman.

Naturally I asked why and it was implied that they weren't impressed with his effort and a couple of other aspects of his game.

Sounds like the Oil are souring on him quite a bit.

Yeah, being a major playoff force in the CHL playoffs, winning the WHL playoff MVP and Memorial Cup MVP are real poopty efforts. Not to mention how terrible it is to be a really good two way centre, can you blame the Oilers.

Oh and btw, I know some of the Leafs brass and they told me the best offer they got for Kessel so far was a 7th round pick in next years draft. They don't expect the offers to get any better either.

I want you guys to get Talbot. I honestly feel like he's a goalie on the upswing, and could bring stability to your crease. His positioning are reflexes are outstanding.

Not saying MC is a world beater, or even a great player, but he is a good veteran on a bubble team, and has done wonders for Sustr and Nesterov's game (to the point they both have surpassed him). Heck what abouuuuut:

He is. Far better skater, not overly physical though, and can log huge minutes if needed.

And I'd be fine with that... it's all around the cap hit to get Stammer and Kuch signed for a bit. Nesterov, DeAngelo, Masin and Koekkoek can fight for his spot.
