Who did he play with that is with another organization? And if they were elsewhere how come they weren't hired to work for us like the other 55 ex-oilers? - Lahey
Wizneiwski, Jbo maybe if poopinkirk, anyone maybe in FLA?, SJ cutting salary?, another guy I wonder is Seidenberg.
I don't think we'll get a #1, even a #2 is going to be tough. But we must start adding guys that can help our better players play more minutes. Essentially what we needed for Petry, just someone to share the load. Now we essentially need 2 Petry's and even that we still need a lot of help - Lahey
Wizneiwski could probably be had on the cheap... is he any good anymore ?

No............ our cap situation is fine got 16mil in space.
Love how Hendy has had two blogs in a row about how the Oilers shouldn't/won't be using their 16th on a goalie but hasn't reviewed any of the goalies available this draft.

Probably not as good, I think he would be an upgrade - ChetManly
This is essentially the situation we are in. Far too long we (frank)ed around hoping for perfect fits. Just ice the best team you can and go from there. Neglecting holes because the guys isn't the exact player you need is stupid. Essentially you get a guy like this and if Schultz doesn't get it, then you can move him and not worry about creating a hole. The guy has injury problems, but only making 3mil in his final year makes this a no brainer. A salary floor team could very well take him if we have to move him next off-season.
Has plenty of offensive capability, including the skills to play the point on the power play, as well as a howitzer of a shot. Is aggressive by nature; he'll drop the mitts and defend his mates. Skates very well and is at his best in an up-tempo system
.
Flaws: Lacks discipline as a defender, including his positioning, decision-making and over-aggressiveness at times. Is physically strong, but lacks ideal size and reach. Would be a more valuable defenseman if he played a more controlled game.

Has nothing to do with what fans said, more the financial issues. - Lahey
We're fine trust me our owner's filthy rich doing some upgrades to the Shark tank....trying to get a new hockey arena built. The thing that's (frank)ed is the previous regime signed a horrible tv deal that's the only issue.

I like Wisneiwski, I kept mentioning him as a trade target until the Ducks scooped him up.
