Well from what I understood from our last conversation you wanted the tampa model because they have a sort of 2-3 year model you believed. Instead of the detroit model that is 4-5 years.

It really doesn't matter what team the prospect plays for. In the end if your nhl ready, the team will do there best to bring you up into the nhl. The talk was about developing players, if teams were not going to develop players then every 18 year old would be drafted and then inserted into the nhl line up. Whether it takes a player 1 or 5 years in the Ahl. If your not nhl ready, your not going to be up playing and learning as your going.

I don't know of any single prospect that is in the minors and has been dominating it for years. I can't even remember a prospect destroying the minors and not been given a chance.

Guys like Connor McDavid show while they are in juniors that they are nhl ready. Bust's like Patrick Stefan who knows what he could have done if he went to the minors instead of the nhl.

Mike Hoffman played 1, 3, 25 games in the nhl in separate seasons. All while scoring 49, 28, 67 in the minors. Until this season where he scored 48 in 79 games. at 25 he finally made the nhl for a full season.

Tyler Johnson played 2 full season in the AHL at a PPG. Played only 14 games and scored 6 in his first pro season then jumped to 50 and now 72. he's now 24.

So two players from 2 different systems, took different paths to the NHL but our both 6 and 7 years out of junior.

You are right. Just look at Patrick Maroon. He took the 6 year plan.

Just think what would happen if we took players with far more talent and drive and made them stew for 6 years....

Add a bunch of veggies, some chorizo and that's fine dining right there. For leftovers we have it with hot dogs, chili dog style. Somehow, Top Chef keeps on rejecting my application.

Every player takes their own path. Riley Sheahan is 23 and playing for Detroit in his first full season. 2 years in the AHL.

You got to think of that 2005 draft would that 1st round be as good without the lockout? Who knows

I really agree that at a certain point you need tougher competition. It's just when it comes to the NHL you can't suck real bad.
