Well they did just get a legit number one center. And guys like Draisaitl and Nurse will also be there soon. As much as people rip them for having a team full of top picks, it's really just the forwards Hall/Nuge/Yak/Eberle and after that it's a bunch of veterans that other teams let go of plus Justin Schultz. Klefbom looks like he'll be a solid top 4 d-man, Nurse is projected to be the same but he might still be another year away from handling top 4 NHL minutes. Suddenly center is a position of strength for them(Gordon is a very solid defensive center) and defense should be decent if Nurse pans out. Wingers have always been a position of strength for them as well. Goaltending is still a problem but their terrible center depth and weak defense has made the golaies look worse than they really are.

Im a canucks fan but also of canadian hockey as well So I follow other teams as well. I agree with your comment about d making goalies look worse.....it happens to teams. Goalies always hung out to dry. Been that way on the nucks for years. Goalies run out of town due to defense. But I gotta say canucks D is far worse than the oilers. I watch replays each night and also see the oilers play van and while the oilers arent good o D T least they arent giving up mind numbing giveaways in bunches of bunches like we do. Someone tell the cameraman when the puck comes into van end he can go on his bathroom break.

And the oilers also get a thumbs up for beating La to put them out too.

12-18 is out of line. As of right now only nuchuskin from Dallas has more points then him and wennberg has 5 less points in the same amount of games.

I just looked at 6 mocks and he was at highest 10 lowest 15. Hunter Shinkaruk was a top 10 pick in some mock drafts though. No wonder he's not doing so great.

Let's just be frank with each other. At best I think Horvat like will a very good 2nd line centre. I'm okay with that. Now a days to get a top line forward you need a top 4 pick or in a deep draft top 6. OR if you're the detroit red wings you can draft them in any round they feel like.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Bo just turned 20 and seems poised to make a run at the 2C spot this year. I don't expect him to be a top line player but I wouldn't say it's out of the question.
