Man...Bill Guerin as GM would excite me as much as it would scare me. He has 0 track record in this side of the business.
I like the idea of a true hockey guy at the helm...Botterill probably wouldnt stay on board to play first assistant again.
I feel like we needed to get Brisebois, or someone from Detroit, or just any scouting staff that drafts well and finds late round gems. - YouMeAndDupuis9

So is everyone it's the playoffs I enjoy Gunner's stuff except that everybody gets looked at for the team's failings except sid and geno. Ovi had a broken foot a couple years ago and got killed by fans and writers alike. - eganator
ovechkin played 5 games without a broken foot in that series and ended up with 1G abd 1A. The criticism was warranted....as far as Malkin, yes he has to play better plain and simple

Throw in Marchand and we'll talk. |

I hated the hiring of Rutherford so I would only be to happy to see him go after 1 season. How he managed to turn 1 good run to the cup into a gig with 1 of the NHL's premier franchises is shocking to me.
His accomplishments in Carolina over the last 5 years were brutal & I seriously question his competency as a GM. Yes he's not to blame for being decimated on D by injuries nor did he push this team into cap hell but he wouldn't have been my choice as GM. |

The one guy on the team that has been doing this is Hornqvist. If the entire team gave the effort and hustle that he has, they're probably up 2-1 in the series. Dude has been better than advertised. - jmatchett383

Just read the Rossi article finally...

You can hate him all you want. But, most if not all of what he wrote is 100% accurate. - 87_71_11_29
Rossi makes factual claims on things all the time without proof. Not sure where the notion that the team didn't need Ehrhoff, or an equivalent, comes from. |

After an 82 game season, everyone at this point is not 100% healthy. If 71 is going to lace em up and take up 9.5 he needs to contribute. If he goes pointless in the series and surgery is not needed in the off season, there will be some questions. |

Eh, he does make some valid points, but he just comes across as a guy with a personal grudge (I have never read anything by him before). He labels the use of two expletives as "an obscenity-laced diatribe." He puffs out his chest trying to show how much better he is than everyone else (by the way, you guys ever read Paul Stewart's blogs?) and takes everything as a personal war between Rutherford and the media ("...a general manager who cares less about what a columnist writes and more about the salary cap. "). He tries to bash the Ehrhoff move using hindsight and is blaming Rutherford for a ridiculous amount of injuries in a short amount of time. While there's some truth and validity, it's mostly just an article used to point out the worst of him and bash him. |

Let me get this straight, you wouldn't consider trading Brad Marchand for Malkin? |

It was most likely last chance to interview JR. The story would be better professionally had it been released after JR's departure. |

Rossi is a first class ass sniffer. He's been thrown out of the Pens locker room and denied interview after interview and yet still stays blind to the fact that his TMZ style of "journalism" is still unwelcome. Still butthurt over losing out on DK's job too. Also, same guy who reported Crosby was having off ice issues in a relationship for his failures against the Rags last year. Only for the Pens to report his wrist issue. Also, said GMJR will trade either Geno or Sid. No way they let a temp GM make that trade.
He throws poop at a wall and sees if it sticks. |

Precisely. He makes all sort of factual claims without any evidence. He should work for Rolling Stones, they like that kind of sensationalized fictional journalism.

Its unfortunate that journalism has turned into this. When the bills are paid by internet adds and click bait brings in revenue over subscribers. They now can reach the idiot masses that want everything for free and are willing to take everything at face value. Its no different in news and sports. PPL like Rossi can get a job over a trusted journalists that does his homework. Even bloggers have a following and they have 0 credibility. |

Rossi last year on DVE: "He's having off ice relationship issues."
Pens reactionary release: "Sid may need wrist surgery"
Rossi: "Told you something was wrong"

He's not and he absolutely deserves it. It's unacceptable IMO. I get it he's hurt and his linemates aren't helping him out but that doesn't excuse him. He's had that problem for years. |
