You son of a female dog! Wait he didn't need the blue line erased the refs just didn't give a poop. I'd take him for a playoff run for sure |

To Pitt: Tlusty ($2.95)and Sekera ($1.75)
To Car: Sutter ($3.3 with 1 yr left) + ??? (maybe Ehrhoff $4 - Carolina has about $6M in cap space)
Thoughts, comments, burnings in effigy? - errey12
Why would Carolina be interested in a UFA like Ehrhoff when they could trade those guys for picks/prospects? |

Lupul? Seriously?
I wouldnt do the term "rumor" the injustice of categorizing this idea as such.
To me, if GMJR watches the Pens get bullied by the Caps again tonight, I think he'll definitely make some kind of major shakeup. Not 87,71, 58 ish but certainly 14, 7 ish. |

Well, you can't expect the Penguins to have the games fixed like the Flyers did. I'd say have icings become obsolete as well, but it doesn't look like Dupuis will be back this year, so no need for that.
I really think he'd fit well with this team. You want a clutch playoff scorer, there's your man. Just use him unlike Montreal. |

I wonder if Briere can still skate. If he became an Islander I would have some real unease. |

He can, he just can't play defense and has a reckless stick. |

So, Maatta and Dupes being out doesn't dispell the fully healthy lineup notion? |

Sekera will certainly be moved. I think they want futures. Hoff doesn't really get that done for them.
I don't think they were in a rush to trade Sutter when they acquired Staal~ he had promise. Now I'm sure they don't want him back. That whole period of time just makes me angry. Pit passed on Forsberg. That's all that draft will ever be about to me. - Johnny Wrath
It could be worse. We could've drafted Forsberg than traded him for Erat !!!

If Pouliot becomes a star you won't give a poop about forsberg - dbell646
Forsberg would be second on the Penguins in goals and third in points if he were magically on the Pens roster. Pouliot is going to have to be an 8-10 goal and 55 point guy. |

I can't see anyone giving Carolina that package. Way too much for 2 impending UFA's especially 2 as underwhelming as them. - dbell646
I agree that it is a lot, but I don't doubt that they could potentially get it. And like I said I wouldn't do that deal from the Pens perspective. But from the asking prices I have heard for them and for comparable guys with higher cap hits, they will probably want a 1st+prospect for Sekera and a 2nd for Tlusty, maybe even slightly more than a 2nd. So assuming Sutter is equal to a 2nd, which he isn't, that is the type of package they would be looking for to get both guys, probably even slightly less than what they would optimally want considering Sutter isn't worth the 2nd.
I think a lot of us are overrating Dumoulin/Harrington just because they are 2 of only 4 NHL caliber prospects the Pens have left in the system (Kapanen and Sundqvist). Dumoulin looks good enough to be a 5/6 d-man, better than Bortuzzo, but not by leaps and bounds. Harrington doesn't look like anything right now, but supposedly has top 4 potential, but how long will we have to wait before we see that? |

I think by this stage of the season the Pens MGMT. has a good idea of what they need and don't need. 1 game isn't going to make GMJR change his mind

If we end up trading Downie, get ready for the most catastrophic flip out (by me) of all time. I will explode with anger.
