With James Wisnieski being a healthy scratch last night. What would it take for Detroit to land him? He shoots right, can run a PP, something the Wings could use. He's also a Michigan native. But he is often injured, and carries a 5.5 million cap hit for another 2 years.
Would you do Pulks and a 1st?

After he signed with the Jackets he made this comment about the Wings so I doubt that Holland would want to bring in that guy
Wisniewski told NHL Live, “For me, knowing Detroit’s history they don’t really pay the market value for a defenseman or any player. So I didn’t think that was going to be a fit for myself.”
Let him sit in Columbus and collect his "fair market value" paychecks. I sure as hell wouldn't give a 1st round pick or the AHL's top scorer for him. |

I agree.
Only if he kept his yap shut, who knows...
5.5 is a bit stiff...not sure he is a "missing piece" but I do like his abrasiveness.
I still remember him giving it to Holmstrom during those epic playoff match ups with the Ducks. |

Didn't know about this. What a douche. I doubt Columbus would trade him to us anyways. |

I remember him crying to the media about a Homer elbow when he was with the Ducks. At this point with the crap that is available for defensemen, I think I would rather the Wings do nothing then overpay for some marginal player that really won't make much of a difference on defense.
One guy I think the Wings should be looking at is Kassian. Healthy scratch a bunch of times this season, young, tough, can score and pretty cheap in terms of salary. His value right now is at an all time low which would be the perfect time to buy. At worst he could probably be that big, physical, tough 3rd or 4th line player the Wings could use. At best he could be the power forward the Wings have needed for years. This could be a low risk/high reward type of move for the right price. I would rather see Kassian in the bottom 6 than Weiss. |

It sounds like he was just repeating what his agent told him.

Stupid thing to say after signing a new contract with a team. There was no reason for him to slam the Wings at that point. This also showed that he cared more about getting a big payday than playing for a winning team.
Either way he can stay there, keep losing and cash those fat paychecks he loves so much. He wasn't worth that type of money then and still isn't. |

Kassian seems to have the same mental toughness (or lack there of) as Lucic.
Even though he has all the tools as mentioned above, he would be: 1) a project 2) somewhat of a chemistry risk. 3). Someone on the roster (Andersson?) would have to go back the otherway since forward spots are at a premium. |

Anathisou is killing it in GR. Darren Helm with hands. put him down for 30 in the NHL. which is what Helm would score if he had hands. |

Ditto to what you said. I remember when this jackass opened his mouth and said this when he signed with Columbus. Let him miss the playoffs and enjoy his paycheck. He'll have plenty of money to play golf. And he's not worth the 5.5 million anyhow. I would like to see what Kassian could do for the Wings if they could get him fairly cheap. |

jumping the gun quite a bit there, no way of knowing for sure without a doubt every prospect who does well in the AHL will ever amount to the same growth in the NHL |
