This was a great game for a coach to take a misconduct. If not, one of them needs to go off in the post game. Preferably tocchet or even gmjr. - buckster2342
Nope. Just fire Tocchet. |

I can't remember what game, but there was a significant change in the way our games have been called. They're basically on strike against us since. - madmike71

The Kunitz call was crap but Letang cant slash that dude like he did to break the stick. Just cant do it. The 5-4 was winning time and the Pens lost their cool again. Cup teams keep their poise, kill the 5-4, and go on to win the game more often than not. Plays like that from 58 are why some of us question him when the chips are down.
You're all glossing over that and making the same excuses you all accuse other fan bases for. Its the refs fault. They wanted the Caps to win. PLEASE.
Caps are badass. They're bigger. Faster. More skilled. More physical. Have a better coach. They're deeper.
Pens aint beating them or the Isles in a playoff series presently constructed. - 87_71_11_29
oh cmon...u cant honestly believe it was the pens lack of composure that cost them this game. The kunitz call was a joke...the slash sure u can say thats a call..but given he two hander just administered to his ankle..and the team already on the 5 on 4..the refs could have just ignored it. Like they ignored the obvious interefernce off the draw when we ģot the late pp

This team needs a coach with some stature. Not a soft spoken professor. Nice guy, decent coach, but this team needs a ball buster. Not just for dealing with the refs, but dealing with stars. - madmike71
So, switch Johnson for Tocchet?

This...Blaming the refs is never an acceptable excuse. Own the fact that you can't put up more goals than the caps and the team just isn't that good. |

We were supposed to have one. Some Rick Tocchet guy. But, as a coach, he's soff. More soff than Johnston.

Exactly. We know this team isn't going far as constructed. Cant really do much this deadline but this summer will be a different story. Expect significant changes. |

Agreed 100%. What do you guys think about some of the bigger guys in our system? I read that Kuhnhackl-Rowney-Megna has been a pretty solid line as of late in the AHL. Anybody think that maybe one of those guys with size (Kuhnhackl or Rowney) or even Payerl could actually develop and make an impact next year? Every time I see pics or highlights of Kuhnhackl he's parked in front of the net using his size, which I think our bottom 6 could benefit from. |

Defense and Fleury played well. Pouliot looked outstanding in an expanded role. Despres is looking good too. Really hope Rutherford doesn't go for a dman. Sutter actually played well too for what it's worth. Crosby needs to shoot the puck more. Not sure why he can't understand that. The PP is looking atrocious as well so something needs to be changed up there too. |

That's not going to happen. My dream coach is Babcock. A guy with a resume. A guy that commands respect and demands his team plays defense.

Yeah and Megna is not a NHL player. Never use the AHL as a gauge for NHL production. It usually never works.
How did BB look? I saw his shots were down and 0 pts, but did he have good possession?

We definitely need more size, but guys that have skill too. Don't know if the guys you mentioned are adequate enough. |

But the refs didn't ignore it so you have to kill it. Tough minded teams do just that.

If Caps pass us in standings and we fall to 4th in division, would we be considered a wild card team? |

Meh... nothing of distinction. Hit some people. That line has no chance with Sutter being so weak on the puck. Sutter was a little better than normal however. |
