That's a first. I see that in the NFL, but never the NHL.

But I like it.

Well... we ALL know this is going to get ugly here with other fans.

"Only crybaby Crosby can get a penalty removed" blah blah blah.

Wish they would have just called embellishment to offset and have it at that.

Except the overhead angle shows sid never even touched him...should have just been a dive...he got away with a couple solid crosschecks to sids back two shift prior aswell

Mike Richards had a call overturned earlier this season against the pens. Its not the first time and I think its right.

Yeah I've never seen that before. Bad call by the refs to overturn it. Sids stick did touch the blade

A few thoughts ...

With our problems on the power play, I actually like splitting up Crosby and Malkin. Our second power play is darn right terrible, so it adds another competent player on it.

I like Pouliot on the power play.

Big fan of Comeau's. Loved that shift late in the period when he had two good shots and had two pretty darn good hits as well. How can you not like him.

Smart decision by the refs to talk about that call on Crosby. The right decision was made. I have never seen that before.

As for Downie. People female doged up a storm about James Neal doing stupid stuff all of last year and wanted him moved. Downie does lots of dumb stuff as well. That said, he shouldn't be moved. He has played pretty well to this point and does moving him really save you that much $$$? I can think of other targets to move that aren't as impactful.

He touched the skate, but he didn't cause him to fall. Dive or fell over......either way it shouldn't have been a penalty. Strange to see a reversal however.

If that was a penalty, then the Pens should be on the PK the whole next period..because that was not a trip. You know how many times a stick makes contact with the outside of someone skate.

my biggest reason for not liking the call is because I don't want agree with Maguire....." Krisopher Letang". Enough already

Maybe if Sid didn't give Crawford a few extra pokes with his stick after Crawford clearly had the puck covered, his back would be unscathed.

I agree. I wasn't that enthused when they signed him but he's done a nice job so far for the team. He hasn't committed as many boneheaded penalties as I thought he would. Trading him wouldn't be smart.

Downie is versatile enough that he can be moved up and down the lineup. You don't want him playing with Crosby or Malkin fulltime, but he has enough in his toolbox to play first or second line minutes if need be. He has Comeau tendencies as far as can score goals and bring some hitting. Obviously Comeau is a smarter player. Downie is the best third line player we have on this roster.

If Carl Soderberg makes it to free agency the Pens should be all over him to replace Sutter, especially if they don't want to rush Sundqvist or try him on wing.
