Crosby Malkin letang are all pointless in a playoff type game and the only complaints are to sutter. - jchst22 you either didn't watch the game or you nothing about the game. Pitts top 2 lines played very good ( crosby and malkin included). I would say they cancelled out Chicagos top 2 lines. And when that happens you need your bottom 6 to make the difference especially wgen you're on the road. I thought Letang was one of if the best players all game.

good game today, sucks not to get the win, but given CHI's record when leading after 2... getting them to a SO was good.
i think the penguins were the superior team in the 1st period, i missed parts of the 2nd and 3rd but overall when you hold a team like CHI to one goal, your defense and goaltending was in good shape.
sucks we didnt get one in the first period. lots of good chances just couldnt drive one home.
sutter continues to be awful. i thought bennett and spaling played well together today but Sutter has really been the weak link lately. im not ready to trade him because i dont think it's good to sell low, i think he can turn it around, but just tough to watch him play right now.
i think one bottom 6 option to replace adams and this team is ready to go. - SuperHenderson13
Adams won't be replaced until someone destroys those incriminating pics he must have of Mario

They can have as many chances as possible. It didn't amount to goals which cost them the game. Maybe it's just me, but thinking crosby and Malkin are the best in the world, I'd like to see them out perform the other teams top six. Not match it |

Crosby and Malkin aren't our top 6. They are two players on our top 6. I'd say that Chicago's top 6 is objectively better than ours. We may have two of the best centers in the league, but Chicago owns a center who's right in there with them and two all world wingers and a young rising stud in Saad. I'd say when Crosby goes up against a line that consists of two players that are constantly in the Selke conversation and still plays the way he did today, he had a good game even if he went pointless.
Our two main issues, like I said, were that Magic Mike didn't get Crosby away from the Toews/Hossa one two punch and that our bottom 6 isn't configured in a way can provide consistent secondary scoring while Crosby is being shut down. |

you're right. There's no reason why Sid and Malkin don't scoring in EVERY game of the season.

Hossa was a beast today, he's what 35 and still on top of his game. Man I wish he would have stayed. |

I mean if someone's gonna sit there and legitimately argue that Crosby, Malkin, and Letang had bad games because they didn't register a point, then there's not much either of us can do against that level of absurdity. You're sending me into the rink against Tyson. |

I dunno. His current contract is manageable hit wise, but I am absolutely terrified of his recapture potential. That's something this franchise doesn't need. I actually think our top 6 is in decent shape considering who we have right now and who we'll have moving forward. We don't need a top 6 full of stars. Remember that Chicago's top 6 which is one of the best in the league has Versteeg and Richards in it. |

I really want that term, but the original contract offer was reportedly 7x7? No reason to bring him into our mix now.
Did i hear the announcer say Versteeg was on their 4th line? |

Maybe? I didn't catch that. I know that Q likes to roll Versteeg-Richards-Kane out. He also scrambles lines a lot though (what a concept). It's possible Sharp was playing up today and I just missed it. |

Based on the limited cap space (please come back Capgeek), it seems like if anyone else is acquired, someone on the roster has to be shipped out. |

I'm really interested to see how the defense pairings shake out een Ehrhoff comes back.
Bortuzzo should be out... He's all over the place out there, and not in the good way. His play has declined as the season has gone on.

Should be this:
Letang-Martin
Hoff-Pouliot
Scuderi-Despres
I don't think we're in any danger of having Pouliot scratched for Bortuzzo since Magic Mike love Pouliot so much and is familiar with him. Would rather see Despres in the top 4, and actually think he's earned it, but I don't want to lean on the top 4 too much and I have extreme reservations over playing the unseasoned Pouliot with Pylon Rob Scuderi. Despres knows the ropes with Rob and lifts him up. I don't think you break that up. |

yeah there was a couple shifts today where Bortuzzo and/or Pouliot chased the puck in there own zone and that leaves the whole line scrambling. Letang and Martin are solid and Scuderi, Depres are a decient 3rd pairing who've played most the year together. I'm not sure a Erhoff and Pouliot combo would be wise. I think that's why GMJR is looking for another D. Maybe move Borts and bring in Pouliot if there's a injury....a little more seasoning wouldn't hurt Pouliot

They have a combined 8 million going to kane and toews. They then have saad and Kruger who will also get raises. Even without any of their UFAs resigning, they are still in a tight situation for next year. Without brad Richards they only have shaw as a 2nd C with teravainen not showing anything still. I wouldn't mind trying to grab sharp from Chicago if they need cap relief |
