Nashville better hope there PK is good in the playoffs. They'll need it when Neal starts taking penalties.....I like your trade proposals but it leaves us without a 3rd line Center - willi
Spaling and Winnik both can play center, and when Beau and Bergenheim are your wings, you don't need to be relied upon for all of the production. |

Are the penguins suppose to win the cup every year? Lets not forget there are 29 other teams trying to do the same thing. Like I've said before there are about 26 other teams that would love to be on the run we've been on the last 6-7 years - willi
No they're not. I don't care that they only have 1 in the past 6 yrs. What bothers me is the piss poor effort put forth in the playoffs. Its a joke. Ill watch this year, if they don't show up again and big changes aren't made, I've lost a lot of interest. |

I know more loyal Oiler fans than what this comment makes you sound like. But you know they've only missed the playoffs since 06 and have been looking at a lottery pick for 5 years. - Ben37

I don't think MJ views Spaling as a center. His use even with injuries to centers has been minimal to say the least. As for Winnik he's around 43% career Face Offs. I'd rather see a actual center come in....Kelly, Stoll, Matthais. But that's just me

In really important news the Penguins are now tied in 1st for FM on the season with 28. Despres/Borts/Sill/Downie better pick it up. Also can't believe Spaling feels hes above dropping the gloves for some beautiful senseless violence. When was the last time Lappy hurt someone? I thought he was suppose to stick guys in the head and take out knees and stuff? So far hes been a saint. |

I think most of us knew this team would need a year or two fix. So far GMJR has done a fantastic job with the top 6. Adding Horny and Perron. Comeau overachieving (got to extend him). These are the type of players that win in the playoffs.
I honestly believe they're only a couple of bottom 6 pieces away from being a legit contender this year. If it doesn't happen this year, I'm pretty confident next year will be very good. |

Toronto is asking for a 2nd plus for Winnik. Way too high, the team will have to get a bit creative. |

Matthais is on a bit of a hot streak, probably pushing his value well over what it would run normally. For Pittsburgh, they have to be either really creative or really obvious. Meaning, get a guy like Bergeneheim, who Florida and Agent want to get rid of, or get Nashville to eat a bunch of salary on Stalberg and bring him in for depth purposes. |

That is exactly what I have been saying for weeks on here, but Toronto is always unpredictable.
Also, Stalberg has a high cap hit, Nashville would have to eat salary on the remainder of that contract. |

Pass. I hope GMJR refuses to give up our 2nd. I'd love to know what Sutter's value is around the league. |

At least Sill is not playing. Maybe Downie had a tweak or something, muscle spasms, a cold... something not a big deal to even mention that made him be scratched for Sill last game. |

I think part of the frustration is that the pieces to add for the bottom six are reasonably obtainable. And honestly, if Maatta and Dupuis weren't done for the year, this team would likely be a top team in the league. |

Downie? Surprised they want to move him since this poop organization loves their poop heads. This team is washed up |

The only thing I have to debate on what you said, because its very very correct, is the Dupuis being out. I say the cap space he gave is part of the reason we can have this strong top 6. If he is in the lineup, thats roughly 2.5 mil we are over. And yes, that would make it more likely Sutter gets shipped out, but since we don't know that, I call Dupuis a ? mark on being good or bad staying healthy.
Maatta of course if healthy... we'd be top 4 in the league without debate. |

Except that they would have to figure another way out to get Perron on the roster with Dupes healthy.

Soon as i saw cox name i laughed. Downie ain't going anywhere he's blended in well and played his part. Get sutter out of here already. Someone said it the other day he makes 3.3 and Isn't worth 1.3. He has even rubbed his sissyness off on bennet. Trade him for winnik strait up. |

I love how so many forget that little piece of having Perron and somehow we could have had both 39 and 9 on the roster. - sammy87
The numbers on how to make both fit are not good if we are not shipping out Martin or Ehrhoff.
So, had Maatta not been hurt, I'd say that was near certain Martin gets traded, because Sutter isn't enough cap relief. But, I do not know how we would have done this trade with Dupuis healthy and Maatta hurt... Spaling and Sutter would have gotten the space, but our bottom 6 would have really been gutted. |
