Whenever wifey and I are out, we hear someone mention the temperature back east, New York, Toronto, Maritimes or Newfoundland, we cackle. Then feel guilty for a moment.

I was out in the yard yesterday, wearing an open hoodie, raking up some leaves and branches for the green bin, and thinking it was too warm working and wearing a hoodie.

Saw some old friends saying it was a snow day in Halifax, and really it wasn't great, but the kids still could have went to school. It is like a different world.

But Vancouver is a pricey place to live.

But as you said, it's definitely quite expensive to live hear, even though it's a beautiful city.

We always do a tobagganing party at my parents place family day weekend. They have a hill probably about 150ft from top to bottom. Snowmobiles to pull us back up.

Sounds like you are making the best of things - looks like you are prepared for some quality outdoor hi-jinx despite the ugly temperature (should be a lot of fun - and you don't even need to haul yourselves back up the hill - now, that's my kind of toboganning!)

I hear ya, I'm not a huge city fan either but where I live it's fairly quiet and away from the downtown core (but yet close enough to get there if need be, within 10-15 minutes without traffic of course). I've always wanted to live on a huge-ass all-amenities cottage style place right across from Whistler/Blackcomb - anywhere there is good access to skiing and ski-bunnies

Don't get me wrong, when you find the right one...it's magic!! But you've gotta spend some time, effort and $$$ (so it seems) to get there.

I grew up living on a farm.

The place I bought last yr has a 70 x 182 yard. Right beside the arena complex, and school. Across from lcbo
